Crew Marsh demonstrated their knowledge of number by writing the missing number on a number line on their whiteboards. Mrs Atherton gave us critique to ensure our numbers were the right way round, we then fixed our work if we needed to.

Our entry ticket consolidated our learning when writing numbers in words and with digits. Our main learning was looking at 4 digit numbers with lots of practise around partitioning. We even managed to challenge ourselves further working on different problem solving and reasoning questions too. A great lesson MI 🙂
Today in magic maths we’ve been exploring our times tables and how we can use a place value chart to support multiplying by ten. The challenge, wasn’t a challenge at all! I’m so proud of the progress Crew Godley are making with their maths!
Today we started to recap and consolidate our learning on hundreds, tens and ones. We used the base ten to make and explore numbers. Lots of us challenged ourselves further today, having a go at reasoning and problem solving questions.
This week, Crew MW have been exploring their number bonds to 10 and writing these as addition sentences. We used the cubes to find the two parts, and then put them together to make the whole number of 10. We worked really hard to get smart in this lesson!
Today we plotted coordinates to create 2D shapes. We then applied our learning to reasoning and problem solving questions 🙂 Great work MI 🙂
Today we applied our money knowledge to purchase something in Miss Marsh’s shop. We had to have the exact amount to buy.
In arithmetic, we have worked hard to ensure we are using the squares in our maths books accurately, ensuring there is one number in each square. We have also worked hard to ensure all of our numbers are formed correctly, a ruler is used to draw any lines and we use appropriate spaces between calculations so that we can read our work properly and it is presented to the best of our ability. We focused on addition of 3 digit numbers with exchanging and some of us were even able to move on to four and five digit numbers!
In maths we have started our last topic of money and today we have recognised and named all of the coins and notes in the UK.
In maths last week, we had a practical lesson where we were able to use the clocks to start discussing how to tell time. It was modelled each of the times and then we had an opportunity to apply this with our own clocks.
