We enjoy taking time to regulate by following mindful meditation videos. It makes us feel nice and calm and ready to learn first thing on a Monday morning. 😌
In Year 2, we have finished our Picasso artwork, we have loved choosing different shapes and creating our snowmen in cubism form. We hope you love them as much as we do!

Today we have made festive bookmarks to use over the Christmas Holidays in our favourite books 📚

I made a little snowman,
I made him just like that!
The sun came out and melted him,
And now my snowman’s flat!

Today we celebrated the start of our Christmas festivities with a good old fashioned party! From musical bumps to pass the parcel, we had a wonderful time 🎊

After weeks of hard work and practice today KS1 performed ‘A Wriggly Nativity’ to a packed out audience and what a show they put on! The dancing, singing, acting and narrating were all outstanding. You should be very proud of yourselves! Merry Christmas Everyone!

Today, Y2 have been exploring how and why Jewish people celebrate Shabbat. We discovered that Shabbat is the Jewish Day of Rest. Shabbat happens each week from sunset on Friday to sunset on Saturday. During Shabbat, Jewish people remember the story of creation from the Torah. Jews have a lot of jobs to do on the Friday evening to prepare for Shabbat.
During book talk, we were given some clues to infer from. We had a silent conversation to explore what we thought about the clues given. Clue number one was a photo of a clip board with the writing ‘Loteria de Navidad’. Many of us knew the word ‘Navidad’ meant ‘Christmas’ in Spanish but we are unsure how this links with the other photo clues. Tomorrow, we will find out more about the reading for this week… the children are intrigued to learn more!

KS1 have begun their new unit in RE, exploring who is a Jew and what do they believe? We explored what items were precious to Jews, for example, The Star of David, The Torah and the Menorah. Oliver suggested that the Torah may tell us stories as the bible does. We discovered that Jews only believe in one God, as do Christians.
