Chapter One Meet and Greet

Today the children in Crew Robson and Crew Godley had the pleasure of meeting their amazing Chapter One reading volunteers and finally put a face to the voice. The children read to their volunteer once a week via audio call and it is having a great impact on their reading progress. It was lovely to be able to say thank you to these wonderful people who make time in their busy jobs to read with our children.

Polar Bear art

Our expedition working wall is an important feature in our classroom as it shows the journey of our learning. Therefore I needed some help to add some pieces to it. We’d planned to make some art using the the rubbish we’d recycled on Monday, however, we wondered how hygienic this would be. Although, we weren’t able to use the rubbish we collected we’d done a good thing by tidying up our environment.

Human Spring – Crew Challenge!

In Crew Godley, we were challenged to become human springs! We had to work with a partner and lean against their outstretched arms. We then had to push back and forth several times in a comfortable, rhythmic manner. Once we had mastered it with our partner, we then changed partners and tried to see if we could get into the same rhythm.

We found it quite tricky to begin with, but we showed great resilience and tried really hard to work with different people in our crew to get it right!

What’s is a Synagogue? 🕍

Today Y2 have continued to explore the Jewish faith and places of worship. We discovered that a synagogue is the Jewish place of worship, where Jews go to pray and speak to God. We compared this to a Christian church and found some differences and similarities. We found that the Torah scrolls contain the words of the Hebrew Bible and services are led by a rabbi or a worshipper.
