Crew Welburn’s Daily Blog Post 25.1.2021

Monday✅

What superstars we have been in writing today! In our Write Stuff lessons, Miss Welburn and Miss Gillies have been pushing us to write more than one sentence for our plot points, and today, we worked really hard as a crew to make sure that everyone achieved this. We shared our chotting ideas, used our Fred fingers and re-read our sentences to check they made sense. We really impressed our teachers!

HOWL Heroes:

Work hard: Harriet👏

Get smart: Darcie👏

Be kind: Lylah 👏

HOWL Score: 3.1 Well done Crew Welburn, you all worked so hard today 🌟

Manic Monday! 😵

It has been a very cold day in school today ❄😨 but we have still managed to work hard and get lots done! 🙌👍

Star moment of the day:

This has got to be our Write Stuff lesson. I was blown away with the ideas that the children generated on the back of watching a clip about ‘The Eruption of Vesuvius’. All crew members contributed well to our class word bank that consisted of adjectives, expanded noun phrases, similes, nouns, verbs and adverbs. This will be incredibly beneficial for all crew members when writing our final plot points this week. Well done Crew! 🙌👍⭐📝✏

Todays HoWL average is: 3.0

A great start to the week! Well done Crew Elmer! 👍🙌⭐😁

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

All crew members need to remember to follow the HoWLs at all times, especially those around ‘listening carefully’, and ‘focusing on my learning’, as there has been a lot of chatting in class again today!

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Harley! Harley was praised my several crew members as well as myself and Miss Hart. Harley has been focused on his learning and has worked hard all day. He achieved ‘Green Standard’ in a number of lessons and produced a great timeline in Expedition this afternoon. I am personally really proud of how hard you have worked today Harley! Well done!  👏⭐🤩🙌😁

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 25/01/2020

We have had a good start to our week in Crew Wilson.

Highlight of the day:

Our writing today! We have started writing a narrative about the Zog story and we have written four sentences over two plot points – what an achievement Crew Wilson!

Howl Heroes:

🟥Work Hard: Luke🧠

🟦Get Smart: Toby👂🏻

🟩Be Kind: Tommy F♥

Howl Average:

2.8

Some reflections and pledges made at the end of the day from some of the Crew, hopefully we will be able to gain a higher score tomorrow by listening and working hard all day.

Crew Marsh: 25/1/21

My star moment today was seeing how much effort all of the children put into producing beautiful work in their books. This is great to see! Especially in our math work! Well done Crew Marsh, keep it up! 👍✔

Average is: 3!👌🙌

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.1

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh need to make sure they are fully concentrating on their learning and listening to instructions, we have been quite chatty today!

Get Smart hero today is Harper! 🙌

I could give Harper this hero everyday since coming back after Christmas. Harper you have been trying so hard everyday and i am so impressed! you make me feel very proud of you! Keep it up! 😎💕👏

What a magnificent Monday it has been

HOWLs

Our Crew average for the day was 3.1

HOWL heroes

Work Hard

Thomas for working hard in maths and expedition.

Get Smart

Daisy for listening carefully during maths and focusing on her learning.

Be Kind

Hollie for being kind to her crew and taking turns when completing the jigsaw in expedition.

I wonder who our HOWL heroes will be tomorrow.

Crew Gerrard (25/1/21)

Magnificent Monday! It has been great to hear what a fantastic day Crew Gerrard have had in school and online. I am really impressed with the attitude to learning and eagerness to improve and get better. It has been difficult to choose our HoWL heroes, but they were:

Work hard: Brayden for amazing reading and division! 😀

Get smart: Evie for cracking on with her learning and showing a great attitude! 😁

Being kind: Kian for showing sportsmanship during PE! 😄

Our HoWL average for today was an amazing 3.2!

Keep this up tomorrow and showing this great attitude! 😆

Crew Kent Blog 25.1.21

Today, we could’ve given anyone HOWL hero… but the lucky 3 were:

Work hard: Keegan – for working hard on his division in math’s.

Get smart: Kelby – for being the riddle queen.

Be kind: Deacon – for supporting Coach Shelly during P.E.

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 3.5! We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.

We have made some changes to our start times to allow them to be closer to our normal start times to support our critical worker parents whilst allowing a staggered start to adhere to social distancing guidelines.

We have also shortened the staggered finish by 15 minutes. Parents can now collect form 2.45 from Monday. Again this worked really well but Teachers shared that it does seem like a long time. We are hoping that 30 minutes allows us to safely transition pupils out at the end of the day. Times have changed  for Monday to Thursday and for a Friday. On a Friday, we ask that all children are collected by 1.15 to allow Teachers the time to have their planning time.

We will monitor this next week and check if it works effectively. Thank you for your continued support. 🙏🏻

Online registration timings may have changed slightly too. Please see timings below.

Happy FriYAY! 😁🙌

I think that we are all relieved that it is finally Friday and we can have a few days rest after a very busy, tiring and what has felt like a very looonngg week! 😅💤

Star moment of the day:

This has got to be our Reading lesson this morning. 📚 I was really blown away with how well the children know the different lenses and can answer a range of questions in connection with these. It was also nice to listen to every child read this morning and I was impressed that every child openly volunteered to read aloud in front of the rest of the crew! 📖

Todays HoWL average is: 2.8

Not the best score this week but still a good score despite the number of absences that we have had in our crew today.

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this next week?

All crew members need to try and attend school every day next week to ensure that our Crew HoWL score is the best that it can be. Children also need to remember to be kind to everyone and maintain a positive attitude at all times, as difficult as that may be!

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Harry! Harry was praised by lots of his crew members and crew leaders for just getting on with his work. From the moment Harry arrived at school his head was down and he was focused on completing his work. Harry got almost full marks in his arithmetic, full marks in the 99 Club and even got all of his reading answers correct. A fabulous day and it just shows the rest of the crew that working hard really does result in helping you to get smart! Excellent work Harry! Well done! 👏⭐🤩🙌😁
