Feel Good Friday! 🙌

I think that a lot of crew members were very relieved that it was Friday today and that they would be getting a few days rest! I for one am also very thankful that it is Friday as this week has been very exhausting! 💤

Star moment of the day:

This has got to be our Reading lesson today. With only 8 of us in school today it meant that everyone got a chance to read out loud, which is a skill that we have been focusing lots on! I was also super impressed with how well the children had remembered the different lenses that we had been looking at this week and their ability to apply this knowledge to help them to answer a range of questions involving all of these lenses! Great work Crew Elmer! 😁👏⭐👍🙌

Todays HoWL average is: 2.5

A disappointing but understandable score. We had several crew members not in school today or online and this meant that they received 1’s for their HoWLs which sadly brought our overall score down! ☹ Hopefully we will have everyone back on Monday! 🤞

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this next week?

We need to make sure that as many children as possible are either online or in class.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Frankie! Frankie has had a great day today! She has been working incredibly hard all day and produced some great pieces of work, especially in Reading and Expedition! Excellent stuff Frankie! Well done! 👏⭐🤩🙌

Crew Wilson Weekly Review: 29/1/21

We’ve had such a fantastic week in Crew Wilson, but how is it the end of another week and nearly the end of the month already?!

Highlight of the week:

We have been developing our understanding of working together as a crew, being kind and looking out for each other this week, and I feel that we have made good progress! We celebrated our success with a Cojo challenge this afternoon that was all about team work and listening skills, each child had a specific role in the game and they worked together brilliantly under a time limit! Hopefully now they’ve had a good practice we will be able to beat Crew Welburn’s time the next time we do it!

Howl Heroes

🟥Work Hard:  Mia and Dalton for their hard work, concentration and brilliant effort in phonics today, well done!

🟦Get Smart: A double-whammy for Dalton today as he was also nominated for Get Smart by the crew for his great listening skills, superstar!

🟩Be Kind: Another crew nomination went to Daisy for her kindness and empathy towards her friends when they are sad or feeling lonely, well done!

Howl Average:

Our score has been a bit up and down this week but I am proud to say we’ve finished Friday with our highest score of the week – 3.7!

Well done Crew Wilson, another fab week of learning completed, enjoy your weekend everyone 👨🏻‍🏫

Crew Welburn’s Daily Blog 29.1.2021

Friday✅

Today, we switched things up a bit in our crew time, and we carried out a challenge! We had to work as a crew to complete an obstacle course. Miss Welburn was very impressed with our communication and with how well we worked as a team. We made sure everyone was involved and had a job to do, and as a result, we won the challenge! 🌟

HOWL Heroes:

Work hard: Heartley 👏

Get smart: Frankie 👏

Be kind: Harrylee 👏

HOWL Score: 3.1. We worked really hard as a crew today, well done! 🌟

Crew Gerrard (29/1/21)

Fantastic Friday! What a great day we have had. I have seen so much fantastic work on line, especially reading, which has been a real highlight. I have heard that the Crew in school have loved their day, which I am really happy to hear about. Our HoWL heroes are:

Work Hard: Emily – your work all week has been amazing, especially reading 😁

Get Smart: Alicia for making an amazing poster during expedition 😃

Be Kind: Kian for brilliant sportsmanship in hockey. Well done for scoring the winning goal, too! 😄

Our HoWL average was 3.1! Have a great weekend guys, you’ve earned it! 😆

Crew Nicholson 28.1.21

We have been super busy in nursery! Today we finished decorating our bear biscuits that we baked yesterday. We made him a hat and boots just like he has in the story ‘whatever next’. They must have been tasty as most of the children ate them as soon as they left the classroom

We had a musical morning where we had lots of fun playing different instruments. We practiced playing in time to the music, playing them fast, slow, quiet and loud. We have some budding percussionists, they were fantastic! We then listened to more music doing playdough disco. We rolled, splatted, squashed and pinched the playdough to get our fingers warmed up and really strong

One of my favourite highlights from today is the work that the children produced doing write dance with Mrs Mason. They listened carefully to the music and made some lovely marks with chalk that represented the music. I was blown away

Testing Thursday!

Today’s has been a ‘testing’ kind of day for many different reasons! We have had crew members testing each other’s patience at break times, testing each other’s knowledge in Maths and testing my ability to spell some very tricky words in The Write Stuff!!

Star moment of the day:

This has got to be our Reading lesson today. 📖 I was super impressed with how well the children understood the text that we were reading as well as the different lenses that we were covering. The children had a long list of questions to answer but all children managed to answer each one and the majority even got them all correct! Excellent work today Crew Elmer! Well done! 😁👏⭐👍🙌

Todays HoWL average is: 3.0

Another good score today and it also means that we are still on track to meet this week’s HoWL target! Well done Crew! Just tomorrow to go!!

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

All crew members need to make sure that they consistently follow the HoWLs throughout the day. We had a fantastic morning but this afternoon some crew members let themselves down and this meant that they received a lower HoWL score than they were actually capable of. I know tomorrow is a shorter day but I really hope we can demonstrate the HoWLs as best as we can from the start to the end of the day! 🤞

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Harry! Harry has really impressed all of his crew members as well as Miss Hart and myself with his excellent work all day. Harry has worked hard all day, focusing on his learning and completing all of the tasks that he has been set! As a result he has got ‘Green Standard’ in every lesson, got 4’s for his HoWLs and produced some excellent work for our displays! An amazing day Harry! Well done! 👏⭐🤩🙌

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 28/1/21

We have had a wet but productive day in Crew Wilson today.

Highlight of the day:

We have recapped ‘greater than’ and ‘less than’ symbols today and have been comparing number sentences. I have been blown away by the amount of children that knew all the answers to my questions, so much hard work shown today, well done!

Howl Heroes:

🟥Work Hard: Tommy F for his amazing effort across all his lessons today, well done!

🟦Get Smart: Jake and Keira-Leigh for their beautiful writing about Zog for our display!

🟩Be Kind: Luke for his brilliant attitude towards his learning all day!

Howl Average:

3.5 – we have risen back up to a more respectable average, well done for those improved listening skills today Crew!

Crew Marsh: 28/01/21

✨Star moment✨

Star moment today was seeing the children complete their reading independently, showing all the skills they have learnt this week, Well done Crew Marsh!! 😁😁

Average is: 3

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.1

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh need to continue to make sure they are fully concentrating on their learning and listening to instructions, we have been quite chatty today….. again!

Howl hero:

Work hard hero today is Mia! 🙌

Mia has been working hard all week, she is really working hard with her arithmetic and making sure she is taking her time when answering questions. Well done Mia, it has not gone unnoticed! 💕💕
