We began our week doing PE with coach Dylan where we practised moving like different animals in the jungle 🌴 We slithered like snakes 🐍 stamped like elephants 🐘 and roared like lions 🦁 We had to make sure we didn’t squash the fruit and we practised jumping over the trees! The children did fantastic!

This week we will be learning about Chinese New Year and we had a go at mark making some Chinese symbols in glitter. We watched a video about how the new year is celebrated and watched a dragon dance 🐉 We are going to try some Chinese food tomorrow 😋

We are also going to be celebrating Valentines day and today we talked about people who are special to us. The children began making cards and a special valentines heart ❤️ 💜

We have had a magnificent Monday in Crew Wilson today!

Highlight of the day:

Our PE lesson with Coach Dylan! We really enjoyed the games he had planned for us, and even though we had to make sure we were listening to instructions and concentrating on the rules we did such a good job! We loved finding the fruit and hiding from the scary gorilla, and we cannot wait to have another session.

It has been a lovely ‘normal’ day in Crew Mcloughlin today and we have been thrilled to welcome back Mrs Bidmead to Crew Mcloughlin 😁We started our day with continuing to answer the question of ‘why is it great to be part of a Crew?’ – watch this space for this. We got the hang of equivalent fractions, started writing to persuade Carcroft community to recycle and ended the day locating continents, oceans and ourselves on a map. Throughout the breaks in the day we enjoyed throwing snow at each other- I must admit I think I won against the children😬

We have had lots of fun in expedition this afternoon. We made swords and shields to prepare us for our medieval battle! ⚔️🛡 We had to use our drawing and cutting skills to create brilliant patterns from the pictures we could see. These are going to look amazing when they’re finished!

Star moment today was learning about the different Roman Emperors. We have learnt about so many different ones!! I wonder how many you can all remember?? 😁

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh need to continue to make sure they are fully concentrating on their learning and listening to instructions, we have been chatty again today and I think this is effective our positive attitudes towards our learning.

Monday is now complete. Well done to Crew Gerrard for working really hard in their learning today. I was really impressed with their pace and accuracy in reading. Maths we’re continuing to consolidate our skills when finding equivalent fractions and I think we’re almost there. Just one more lesson, guys! Expedition was interesting and we learned some new ICT skills when labelling a map of the world on Jamboard. It’s been a difficult choice for our HoWL, as a result of such hard work, but they are:
