Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 4/2/21

Another whirlwind day in Crew Wilson!

Highlight of the day:

In writing this term we have written all about Zog and his adventures in school. Today we used all of our writing knowledge to create two sentences independently! We had some fantastic work produced which we will carry on with tomorrow, well done Crew Wilson!

Howl Heroes:

Double whammy of Howl heroes today as we ran out of time yesterday!!

Work Hard: Toby and Eva for their outstanding independent sentences today, well done!

Get Smart: Daisy and Jake for their brilliant questions in expedition, great work!

Be Kind: Finlay and Bobby-J for being so kind with their friends on the playground.

Howl Average:

3.3 – a higher score than yesterday due to improved listening skills from the whole crew, well done!

Crew Marsh: 4/2/21

✨Star moment✨

Star moment today was seeing the children create the different Roman army formations on the playground. See how many the children can show or tell you… 😊

Average is: 2.2 😢😭

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.1

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh need to continue to make sure they are fully concentrating on their learning and listening to instructions, we have been chatty, getting involved in eachothers business and not always having a positive attitude.

Howl hero:

Work hard hero today is Harlie!🙌👏😁

Harlie has worked really hard today in all of her lessons, she consistently makes sure she produces beautiful work and is always listening when I am speaking. Well done Harlie! 💕

Crew Gerrard (4/2/21)

Thursday complete! I cannot praise Crew Gerrard anymore after their resilience, perseverance and determination. You were amazing during reading and produced some great work and, even though maths was tricky, you kept going. I promise that you will get there with the fractions, it just takes time. It’s been really difficult to select our HoWL heroes today, but they are:

Work Hard: Tyler – you kept going and trying with the maths 😄

Get Smart: Amelia – you independently completed the reading and maths, which was quite tricky to grasp 😃

Be Kind: Emily – when we discussed Crew this morning, your metaphor summed it up perfectly 😁

Our HoWL average was 2.7 today!

Keep showing that same determination, Crew Gerrard – I couldn’t have been prouder of you! 😆

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 3/2/21

We’ve had a great day in Crew Wilson!

Highlight of the day:

Our afternoon expedition lesson in which we learned all about attacking and invading! We shared our ideas and worked great together as a crew as we sounded out words for our mind map!

Howl Heroes:

We were so involved with our expedition lesson that we ran out of time to hand our howl heroes out! We will save these for our crew session in the morning!

Howl Average:

2.8 – a slight dip in the average after a few green standard reminders, hopefully we’ll be able to get that a little higher tomorrow!

✨Star moment✨

Star moment today was seeing the children play netball and basketball. They were all so competitive and made sure they listened to any advice to help them improve their game. Well done Crew Marsh, this was great team work to see! I think by the end of the lesson we had scored over 20 hoops!!!! 😁🙌🏀🏀

Average is: 2.8 – we are slowly getting better!

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.1

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh need to continue to make sure they are fully concentrating on their learning and listening to instructions, we have been quite chatty and not always having a positive attitude.

Howl hero:

Work hard hero today is Jake!

Jake has really impressed me in both writing and reading today, I am always on at Jake about his spellings and make sure he is copying them down correctly and using the text… today Jake did just that!! Well done Jake, keep up this up because you smashed the reading lesson today!!! 😁😁

Crew Gerrard (3/2/21)

Weird Wednesday! What a strange day it has been for Crew Gerrard. We have overcome technical difficulties and managed to produce some really good work. I am impressed by the resilience shown and I hope to see that continue for the rest of the week. It’s been a hard choice for our HoWL heroes today, but they are:

Work Hard: Alicia – she has settled into the online learning really well 😁

Get Smart: Ellie-May – she has been able to improve her knowledge of subtracting decimals 😄

Be Kind: Ruby – she always brings a positive attitude to our Crew 😃

Our HoWL average was 2.5 – this needs to improve Crew Gerrard! 😆

Crew Nicholson Snow day home learning

What a surprise waking up to all this snow! I hope you all have lots of fun making a snowman, snow angels and throwing snow balls ⛄️❄️

Here are some activities you can do at home today as we are having a ‘no screen’ day:

❄️ Talk about the weather today and sing the weather song we sing in our morning crew session. What different words can you think of to describe the weather? Send me your ideas!

❄️practice finding your name and practise beginning to write it. Make sure you are using the correct pencil grip – nip, flip and grip! ✍️

❄️sing some counting songs such as 5 little ducks, 5 little monkeys etc can you show the correct number on your fingers? Can you say how many are left when 1 goes away?

❄️Story time 📚 Get cosy and retell your favourite story to your grown up. Who is your favourite character? What is your favourite part and why?

❄️we are exploring the colour Orange in class. Go on a colour hunt and find objects that are orange. How do we mix the colour orange?

❄️collect junk modelling materials such as empty toilet rolls, cereal boxes etc and make a rocket or a spaceship! 🚀🪐💫

Send me photos of your work on dojo, I can’t wait to see them! 🤩
