Crew Ferguson and Flaherty Daily Blog 9.2.21

What a terrific Tuesday we have had today!

The children have continued to work on their 2nd expedition case study and looked closely at materials and their properties. We worked in mini crews and together located different objects around the classrooms to discuss what materials they were made out of. We then deepened our understanding of materials by discussing the materials properties. We found out that windows were made of glass, which is both strong and fragile. We also found most glass objects are transparent.

The children are loving their expedition this half term, keep up the great work everyone.

Our HOWL average today was 3.1! Amazing everyone 🌟

Crew Welburn Daily Blog Post 9.2.2021

Tuesday✔️

We have all worked really hard today in maths, investigating numbers up to 20.

Our highlight of today was decorating our shields. We used our shields as a template to cut out the coloured paper and stick it to show which crew we have an allegiance to all ready for our medieval battle!

HOWL Heroes:

Work Hard: Bronwyn 👏

Get Smart: Charlie 👏

Be Kind: Heartley 👏

Today’s HOWL average: 2.8 We need to work on our listening tomorrow Crew Welburn

Crew Gerrard (9/2/21)

Terrific Tuesday! Well done to Crew Gerrard today for our best day of online learning yet. All the work was completed and handed in, with lots of top quality answers. We have been continuing to read Holes and we are about to read the best chapter tomorrow, in my opinion. Then we completed our final lesson on equivalent fractions, which I am confident that we have now cracked. Great perseverance, Crew Gerrard. We’ve had another tough choice for of HoWL heroes today, but they are:

Work Hard: Emily – you continue to produce fantastic work in all subjects and take everything in your stride 😁

Get Smart: Ellie-May – you have given your best to all subjects today and I cannot fault that at all 😃

Be Kind: Sapphire – I know you’ve been completing work at home, but I think everyone in your Crew was really glad to see you again 😄

Our HoWL average was 2.9, so let’s continue to improve that tomorrow! 😆

Crew Kent Blog 09.02.21

Today, we could’ve given anyone of our Crew Kent online Superstars the HOWL hero…

but the lucky 3 were:

Work hard: Roxanne – for a fantastic attitude to her online learning.

Get smart: Lexie – for always listening and being ready to learn.

Be kind: Deacon – for being Mr McCusker’s online Crew Deputy.

It’s been another long day but the Crew have been resilient and learned lots about the UK and the Capital Cities during the Expedition Lesson this afternoon.

Mr McCusker is really proud of you all and we’re sure Mr Kent will be proud too! 🤩

Crew Nicholson 8.2.21

We began our week doing PE with coach Dylan where we practised moving like different animals in the jungle 🌴 We slithered like snakes 🐍 stamped like elephants 🐘 and roared like lions 🦁 We had to make sure we didn’t squash the fruit and we practised jumping over the trees! The children did fantastic!

This week we will be learning about Chinese New Year and we had a go at mark making some Chinese symbols in glitter. We watched a video about how the new year is celebrated and watched a dragon dance 🐉 We are going to try some Chinese food tomorrow 😋

We are also going to be celebrating Valentines day and today we talked about people who are special to us. The children began making cards and a special valentines heart ❤️ 💜

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 8/2/21

We have had a magnificent Monday in Crew Wilson today!

Highlight of the day:

Our PE lesson with Coach Dylan! We really enjoyed the games he had planned for us, and even though we had to make sure we were listening to instructions and concentrating on the rules we did such a good job! We loved finding the fruit and hiding from the scary gorilla, and we cannot wait to have another session.

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: Tommy F for his fantastic effort and collaboration in expedition this afternoon,

Get Smart: Eva for listening to feedback and improving her handwriting today!

Be Kind: April for considering the needs of her Crew all day and looking after everyone!

Howl Average:

3.5 –  A great start to the week due to improved listening and attention, lets see if we can keep it going in our last week of half term.

Crew Mcloughlin Blog 08.02.21

It has been a lovely ‘normal’ day in Crew Mcloughlin today and we have been thrilled to welcome back Mrs Bidmead to Crew Mcloughlin 😁We started our day with continuing to answer the question of ‘why is it great to be part of a Crew?’ – watch this space for this. We got the hang of equivalent fractions, started writing to persuade Carcroft community to recycle and ended the day locating continents, oceans and ourselves on a map. Throughout the breaks in the day we enjoyed throwing snow at each other- I must admit I think I won against the children😬

HoWL heroes for today…
