Crew Nicholson 11.2.21

We had such a busy day in nursery yesterday! We had a lovely baking day to finish the week 👩🏻‍🍳🧑🏼‍🍳 We made heart biscuits for our valentine and we made pancakes for pancake day next week 🥞 We learn so much through baking activities and the best part is we get to eat them 😋 We covered maths skills when we measured the ingredients, trying to be careful to add the correct amount. We used a rolling pin to roll the mixture and a cutter for the heart shape which is good for our physical development 💪🏼 We discussed where the ingredients come from and observe what happens when we cook them. Sooo much learning 🤩

We continued our name writing practice, ensuring we are using the correct pencil grip and forming our letters in the right way. We have some children well on their way to being able to write their name without their name cards! Superb! 🤩

A group of children did some mark making with Mr Jones where we learnt to draw a dragon 🐉 We talked about the different shapes we would need and the features on a dragon such as his ‘prickles’ and fire out his mouth! Fantastic work!

Finally, it was a lovely surprise to walk into the classroom and be greeted with a huge ‘happy birthday’ from the children for my birthday next week. Thank you Mrs Godley and all the foundation staff for making it special 💕

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 11.02.21

Thrilling Thursday! 😁

Today has been another great day in Crew Elmer!

Star moment of the day:

Today’s star moment has got to be our Hooked on Books lesson this morning. I was really impressed with the children’s knowledge of the different lenses and how well they were able to infer an image given from the text that we have been looking at. 😁👏⭐👍🙌

Todays HoWL average is: 3.1

A great score to end this half term with! Excellent work Crew Elmer! Well done! 🙌⭐🤩

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this after half term?

Crew Elmer need to make sure that they get lots of rest over this half term break and then come back refreshed and ready to learn. 🤗📖📝✏📚🏣

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was the whole of Crew Elmer! Miss Hart and I felt like the whole of Crew Elmer (including the remote learners) deserved to be HoWL Heroes for their hard work this half term. There have been lots of changes this half term but all of the children have adapted well, so for that reason all of Crew Elmer are little heroes today! Well done Crew Elmer! If you can work this hard next term I think we will achieve a lot as a crew! 👏⭐🤩🙌

Crew Marsh: 11/2/21

What a half term!!

It has been busy but we have achieved a lot! I feel so proud about how far we have come in our writing lessons, and how easy we all find it to use extra grammartastics in our work! I cannot wait to read our next piece!

Have a lovely half term! Get lots of rest and come back well rested and ready for next half term 😊

✨Star moment✨

Star moment today was seeing the children enjoy themselves playing dodgeball, it was great to see them playing with new rules and adapt their tactics and game to win! Excellent Crew Marsh! 👍👍

Average is: 3.1!! 🙌

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.1

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh need to continue to make sure they are fully concentrating on their learning and listening to instructions, we have been chatty again today and I think this is effective our positive attitudes towards our learning.

Howl hero:

Get Smart hero today is Millie!

Millie has produced some beautiful work today! I have been really impressed with how neat your handwriting has been and how much care you have taken! 💕💕

Crew Ferguson Daily Blog 11.2.21

What a terrific Thursday we have had today. We have spent a while today referring back to being a crew.

We have circled up and discussed what we do when we are feeling red and how we can support each other. We have spoken about how it is ok to be angry and feeling red, we just have to come up with strategies to support us.

We have also had our Tutormate scheme start today, where children within year 2 have the opportunity to read with different tutors from around the country. The children have really enjoyed wearing the headphones and speaking to the volunteers. We look forward to continuing this after half term. Xx

Crew Gerrard (11/2/21)

What a way to end the week in Crew Gerrard! We’ve had our best day of online learning and I am incredibly proud of the effort and attitude today. We have really pulled together as a Crew and ensured that we have completed our learning. It’s been really pleasing to see the desire to get better and improve skills in both reading and maths. We then continued with our project of making globes in Expedition, before having a great catch up with the UKS2 Crews. Crew Gerrard have made it a difficult decision, in the best possible way, to pick our HoWL heroes, but they are:

Work Hard: Everyone – some pupils worked on their skills independently, whereas others want to improve them with help and the desire to do this was brilliant 😁

Get Smart: Everyone – I am really proud of the dedication shown to produce the best work you possibly could 😃

Be Kind: Everyone (again) – it was such a lovely atmosphere on the online class all day and we tried our very best to cheer everyone up in our Crew 😄

Our HoWL average was a 2.9 today, but everyone in the online class achieved a 4! What a brilliant day, Crew Gerrard – make sure you have a happy half term as well! 😆

Crew Welburn’s Daily Blog 11.2.2021

Thursday✅

Today, Miss Welburn challenged us to be ninjas! We had to move around silently without anyone hearing us. It was a bit of a challenge, but we all made it to level 2 ninjas!! 🐱‍👤 We also enjoyed learning how to create paper templates to cover our swords and shields to add decoration. We worked hard as a crew to decorate these.🌟

HOWL Heroes:

Work hard: Nathan👏

Get smart: Frankie👏

Be kind: Lylah 👏

HOWL Score: 3.2 Wahoo Crew Welburn! I’m so proud of your score today! 🌟🌟

Crew Kent Blog 11.2.21

Today, we could’ve given anyone HOWL hero… but the lucky 3 were:

Work hard: Chloe – for a great improvement in her reading answers.

Get smart: Skyler – for a fantastic attitude towards her work in expedition.

Be kind: Abigail – for helping out her classmates online.

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 2.6! We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.

Crew Shields and Crew Longley – 10/2/21

Today the children have been working hard to get smart in Maths. They have been learning how to measure perimeter. They defined their measuring skills and discovered the range of equipment we can use to measure a range of objects. This was challenging for some children but they preserved and continued working on their resilience.

Longley Crew Average:  2.8

Shields Crew Average : 2.4

Targets for this week : 3.2

How can we improve?

To further improve, the children need to ensure they are taking pride in their learning and always producing beautiful learning.

Crew Shields Work Hard Howl Hero – Maddie
Maddie always follows our expectation and sets an excellent example for her peers. She always listens carefully to ensure she understands what she needs to do. Well done Maddie.

Crew Longley Get Smart Howl Hero – Ruby
I have really enjoyed reading Ruby’s independent writing. It is evident that she has taken on board what she has been taught and tried hard to include this in her own writing. Well done Ruby.
