Crew Ferguson Daily Blog 11.2.21

What a terrific Thursday we have had today. We have spent a while today referring back to being a crew.

We have circled up and discussed what we do when we are feeling red and how we can support each other. We have spoken about how it is ok to be angry and feeling red, we just have to come up with strategies to support us.

We have also had our Tutormate scheme start today, where children within year 2 have the opportunity to read with different tutors from around the country. The children have really enjoyed wearing the headphones and speaking to the volunteers. We look forward to continuing this after half term. Xx

Crew Gerrard (11/2/21)

What a way to end the week in Crew Gerrard! We’ve had our best day of online learning and I am incredibly proud of the effort and attitude today. We have really pulled together as a Crew and ensured that we have completed our learning. It’s been really pleasing to see the desire to get better and improve skills in both reading and maths. We then continued with our project of making globes in Expedition, before having a great catch up with the UKS2 Crews. Crew Gerrard have made it a difficult decision, in the best possible way, to pick our HoWL heroes, but they are:

Work Hard: Everyone – some pupils worked on their skills independently, whereas others want to improve them with help and the desire to do this was brilliant 😁

Get Smart: Everyone – I am really proud of the dedication shown to produce the best work you possibly could 😃

Be Kind: Everyone (again) – it was such a lovely atmosphere on the online class all day and we tried our very best to cheer everyone up in our Crew 😄

Our HoWL average was a 2.9 today, but everyone in the online class achieved a 4! What a brilliant day, Crew Gerrard – make sure you have a happy half term as well! 😆

Crew Welburn’s Daily Blog 11.2.2021

Thursday✅

Today, Miss Welburn challenged us to be ninjas! We had to move around silently without anyone hearing us. It was a bit of a challenge, but we all made it to level 2 ninjas!! 🐱‍👤 We also enjoyed learning how to create paper templates to cover our swords and shields to add decoration. We worked hard as a crew to decorate these.🌟

HOWL Heroes:

Work hard: Nathan👏

Get smart: Frankie👏

Be kind: Lylah 👏

HOWL Score: 3.2 Wahoo Crew Welburn! I’m so proud of your score today! 🌟🌟

Crew Kent Blog 11.2.21

Today, we could’ve given anyone HOWL hero… but the lucky 3 were:

Work hard: Chloe – for a great improvement in her reading answers.

Get smart: Skyler – for a fantastic attitude towards her work in expedition.

Be kind: Abigail – for helping out her classmates online.

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 2.6! We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.

Crew Shields and Crew Longley – 10/2/21

Today the children have been working hard to get smart in Maths. They have been learning how to measure perimeter. They defined their measuring skills and discovered the range of equipment we can use to measure a range of objects. This was challenging for some children but they preserved and continued working on their resilience.

Longley Crew Average:  2.8

Shields Crew Average : 2.4

Targets for this week : 3.2

How can we improve?

To further improve, the children need to ensure they are taking pride in their learning and always producing beautiful learning.

Crew Shields Work Hard Howl Hero – Maddie
Maddie always follows our expectation and sets an excellent example for her peers. She always listens carefully to ensure she understands what she needs to do. Well done Maddie.

Crew Longley Get Smart Howl Hero – Ruby
I have really enjoyed reading Ruby’s independent writing. It is evident that she has taken on board what she has been taught and tried hard to include this in her own writing. Well done Ruby.

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 10.02.21

Welcome Back! 🖐

It was so nice to have most of the crew back in the classroom today! 🤗💕

Star moment of the day:

This has got to be our PE session this afternoon. I was really impressed with how well our crew worked together in small teams during games of netball and basketball today. The children played really fairly and were incredibly supportive of each other. I was also blown away with how well they praised each other, showing great sportsmanship.  😁👏⭐👍🙌

Todays HoWL average is: 2.9

A great score for our first day back in school, especially as there were still some crew members who were unaccounted for. I’m hoping that this number continues to rise!

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Elmer need to make sure that they continue to demonstrate all HoWLs as best as they can and aim for Green Standard in most lessons to help them to achieve those ‘4’s’.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Laila. Today was Laila’s first day back in the classroom since last half term and she coped incredibly well. Lots of the Crew praised how Laila just got on like she has never been away! Laila worked hard in every lesson and I was really impressed with her knowledge in maths and her handwriting in The Write Stuff! An excellent first day back Laila! Well done! 👏⭐🤩🙌

Crew Nicholson 10.2.21

We enjoyed another snowy day in nursery and stayed out for a lovely snowy walk on the MUGA this morning ❄️ The fresh air woke us up ready for our day of learning 🙌🏼

We did write dance with Mrs Mason where we put together the final piece of the write dance sequence. Today was mark making to the music that we had heard, we did excellent listening and made some lovely marks 🤩

I noticed some fantastic maths learning through play where the children compared sizes of the towers, saying which was one biggest and smallest. We sang our favourite counting songs, practising counting to 5 and back again. We are getting good at showing the amount on our fingers 🤚🏼

What a wonderful Wednesday we have had in crew today. We have stated to think about a non chronological report in our English session, and to get out chotting ideas flowing we used hot seating to spark discussions.

The grown ups in the unit pretended to be different roles from medieval times to link with our expedition learning. The children had to ask them questions to find out who they were. Miss Ferguson started bossing everyone around and demanding food from all the servants! She was the King of year 2 👸

We also had the chande to speak to the lovely ladies who run tours of Lincoln Castle. They shared photos of the lovely grounds and answered questions the children had come up with deepen their knowledge.

Our HOWL average was 2.8 today. Well done everyone xxxx
