Crew Thiede 9.3.21

We started our day with some exploring in the outdoor area. The children noticed all the leaves that have fallen on the ground and we wondering what we could do with them, they then saw a mysterious bin and began putting them in there! We talked about what compost is made of and what it is. We then met the smallest members of our environment! The children were brave and very careful while they got close to the bugs and insects.

This afternoon we got imaginative! We drew outlines around other crew members and made watches just like the ones that our Crew leaders have! We really enjoyed looking a the time, it made us feel very grown up!

Today our HOWL score was 2.8!

Our HOWL hero was Messiah! He has been such a hard worker today, especially in Phonics! What an amazing way to Get Smart! Well done!

Crew Shields – 9/3/21

Crew Shields have had a rather busy day with Writing and Maths. We enjoyed a practical maths session to help us understand the concept of mulitplying a 2 digit number by a 1 digit number. To make it even trickier they had to use the skills we learned for addition, however, I didn’t need to worry as we supported each other through the questions. This demonstrated some great crew work.

Crew Shields Average : 3.2

Targets for this week : 3.2

How can we improve?

To further improve, Crew Shields need to continue working on their presentation to ensure they are producing beautiful work.

Crew Shields Get Smart Howl Hero – Jack
Since September, Jack has been working hard to improve his handwriting and make his letter formation smaller. I know that he has also been working on this at home and his hard work has most certainly paid off. His handwriting is beautiful and he should be extremely proud of the progress he has made so far this year.

Crew Mcloughlin blog 9.3.21

Well today was out of this world! We thoroughly enjoyed dressing up today (maybe me more than the children) for our zoom with space expert Dave Eagle. We had lots of our inquisitive questions answered about all things space and hopefully encouraged the children to aspire to be whatever they would like to be, even if you have to work really hard to achieve it.⭐🚀👩‍🚀👨‍🚀

Crew Gerrard (9/3/21)

What a strange day we have had! We’ve been trying our best to get back in to the routine of school. We have been working on how to find equivalent fractions and order them in terms of size. We’ve also began our experience day for our next piece of writing. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly speaking to space expert, Dave Eagle. He really blew our minds with his out of this world knowledge. Our HoWL Heroes today were:

Work Hard: Emily for fantastic enthusiasm during the call with Mr Eagle 😁

Get Smart: Chloe for great dedication and explanations when ordering and comparing fractions 😃

Be Kind: Lucas for helping out with jobs throughout the day – you’ve been a massive help 😄

Our HoWL average today was 3.1 today – I wonder, can we react quicker to instructions? 😆

Crew Nicholson 9.3.21

🌟 Star moments in nursery today 🌟

We thought we would make use of the sunshine being out and practised shadow drawing. The children loved looking at the different shadows and making lots of different marks. This kept the children engaged in learning for so long, even after the sun had gone in, we continued to make marks and experimenting with different colours and patterns. Next time we are going to do this outside and use lots of different types of media! Definitely a favourite in Crew Nicholson 🙌🏼

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 9.3.21

We have had a tremendous Tuesday in Crew Wilson, it is so nice to have our full crew back in school!

Highlight of the day:

In our Write Stuff lesson we have been exploring letters further, looking at envelopes, stamps and greetings. We are going to start writing our own letter tomorrow to Zog and the Flying Doctors, to see if they can help us fix Supertato!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: This goes to April for her consistently positive attitude and fantastic effort towards her learning, April never needs a reminder of what to do!

Get Smart: This goes to Eva for showing brilliant listening skills throughout all of our lessons today, keep it up!

Be Kind: This goes to Perrie for being an invaluable member of our Crew, she is so kind and helpful, we are so glad you are back with us Perrie!

Howl Average:

3.6 – A great improvement from yesterdays score, still some work to do for some children to make sure they are listening first time but I am confident we can achieve this by the end of the week!

Crew Welburn’s Daily Blog 9.3.2021

Tuesday✅

We’ve worked really hard today in Crew Welburn to make sure that we were getting smart in our lessons. We started the day with a special delivery of a letter that had been sent to us, and then spent some time exploring letters so that we know how to write them and the layout of a letter, ready to write to Zog and the Flying Doctors so that they come and fix Teddy’s arm. Then, we ordered numbers from greatest to smallest and smallest to greatest in maths using number cards, base ten and cubes. We got so smart in our practice part of the lesson and we were able to do our sheet on our own! Miss Welburn was very impressed! 🌟✨🌟

HOWL Heroes:

Work hard: Mariama👏

Get smart: Kairen👏

Be kind: Bronwyn 👏

HOWL Score: 3.2 Well done Crew Welburn, you have worked hard, got smart and you were all kind today. Keep it up! 🥰

Crew Marsh: 9/3/21

Star moment

Star moment today was seeing the children work as a team in PE. The children learnt a new skill today playing football, and all enjoyed the new challenge and being able to play contact sports outside. Well done Crew Marsh!! 🙌🙌

Average is: 2.9 – we are slowly creeping up.

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh’s target is to make sure they are concentrating on their learning and not as much talking, today this seems to have been all day and I have had to constantly remind children about what working hard and getting smart looks like.

Howl hero:

Work hard hero today is Aaron!

Aaron has really shone today, he has made sure he has worked hard in every subject and really applied himself to his learning. Well done Aaron, Crew Marsh is so proud of you!😁😁

Crew Ferguson Daily Blog 9.3.21

Terrific Tuesday! Today in crew we explored numbers in math’s and wrote everything we knew about a specific number on a whiteboard. Collating ideas together we looked at one more/ one less than a number. We looked at addition and subtraction number sentences to reach that number. We looked at numbers which multiplied to make that number. We popcorned everything we knew to create a class number sheet. The children loved this as they could see clearly numbers don’t just mean counting!

Our HOWL average today was 3.3! We discussed being kind today and what this means. Resetting our crew now all children have returned to the classroom. Hopefully tomorrow the children can improve this score further by working on “being kind” and respecting other children as well as their classroom. Well done everyone x
