Crew Shields – 12/3/21

Another busy day in Crew Shields as we further consolidated our Maths using a concrete resources. The children used the resources to help them share larger amount into equal groups. This is quite a tricky concept but the children have preserved and give it 100%. We’ve had a fantastic week getting settled back into our normal routines now we’re all back together. The children have really enjoyed our expedition and exploring teeth as we start our journey into the digestive system.

Crew Shields Average : 2.9

Targets for this week : 3.2

How can we improve?

To further improve, Crew Shields need to ensure that they have a consistently positive attitude to learning to allow them to be successful in all learning.

Crew Shields Be Kind Howl Hero – Chloe
Chloe is always polite and helpful towards her peers and the adults in our bubble. She is always willing to give a helping hand when she can to ensure other children are successful. This makes Chloe a fantastic role model to her peers. Well Done Chloe.

Crew Gerrard (12/3/21)

We’ve all survived our first week back – well done Crew Gerrard! We’ve had a week where we have been getting back into the swing of things and re-setting our expectations. Today, in maths, we’ve been working on finding equivalent fractions and adding them together. We’ve also been enjoying our reading sessions today and we were really focused on our learning. Today, our HoWL Heroes are:

Work Hard: Keegan for persevering with maths and always trying his best 😁

Get Smart: Ellie-May for being a superstar and working out all of her maths problems 😃

Be Kind: Maxi for being really kind during our reading lesson and supporting his peers 😄

Our HoWL average was 2.9 today, but we’ve had a few of our Crew members missing and had a really solid day overall. I wonder if we can show that we are ready to learn quicker? 🤔

Have a great weekend, guys! 😆

Star moment

Star moment today was completing 99 club, it was great to see how the children applied all of their time table knowledge to answer the questions in a quick time. Time tables in Crew Marsh have massively improved since the start of the year and now some of our crew members are on the 77 club!! Very impressive! 👏👏👏

Average is: 2.9!

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh’s target for next week is to make sure they are concentrating on their learning and not as much talking, today this seems to have been all day and I have had to constantly remind children about what working hard and getting smart looks like.

Howl hero:

Work hard hero today is Preston and Millie 😁

Preston has really stood out today for always making sure he is working hard and doing the right thing. Every time I have asked the class to stop, Preston has been the first to do this. Well done! 😎

Millie has concentrated on her learning all morning, she has made sure her work has looked neat and has shown that she is listening by looking at the front. 🙌

We can’t believe what a windy day it has been!

We have really focused on getting smart today! We have been talking about our mummies and special adults we have in our lives ready for mothers day at the weekend. 💐

In reading we talked about this weeks class text ‘There’s an Alien in your Book’ (we really love this one, especially all the fun actions) and drew a house with Mr Jones for the alien to live in while he stays on earth 🌎

We have also been hard at work creating some beautiful gifts for the special ladies in our lives but we can’t show any pictures of these, we don’t want to ruin the surprise! 🌺

Today our HOWL hero is George! George spoke so clearly today, shared lots of lovely ideas and even began to speak in longer sentences by using ‘because’! 🌟
