Star moment today was seeing the children enjoy their experience day in our writing lesson. We had a carousel of activities for the children to complete, which will help them when they come to write over the next two days. This was great to see Crew Marsh! 🙌👍

Monday ✅

We’ve been working really hard on our handwriting today in Crew Welburn. We’re trying to make sure that our ascenders (d, t, k, b, l and h) are taller than our other letters, and the our descenders (p, g, f, j, y and q) sit below the line. We have seen some real improvements in some of the handwriting in Crew Welburn. Keep it up! 🌟

HOWL Heroes:

HOWL Score: 3.3 Well done Crew Welburn! Keep it up!

Crew Ferguson Daily Blog 15.3.21

Magnificent Monday!

What a great start to the week we have had in crew. We are trying really hard in our writing lessons and our handwriting is really improving. The children even have a handwriting homework challenge this week. I wonder which children are going to win prizes!

During our writing session this morning the children worked together during a mini experience day. They worked as a crew to “orally” rehearse parts of a story to support their writing further in the week. They enjoyed this and even recorded their speaking parts! Well done everyone, I can truly see your confidence growing, its lovely to see.

Our Howl average today was 2.9

Well done everyone.

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 12.03.21

YAY! It’s FriYAY! 🙌We were all so happy this morning that it was Friday! This was the first Friday in school for many of our children since… I can’t remember! So today was a struggle for most this morning! However, all crew members have still worked hard and produced some beautiful work! 👍📝👏😁

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today ‘s star moment has got to be our Hooked on Books reading lesson this morning! I was really blown away with how well the children were able to complete a range of questions independently using the knowledge that they had gained from lessons throughout the week! Amazing work my reading group! Well done! 😁👍

Todays HoWL average is: 3.5

WOW! 😁 What an amazing score to end the week off! Well done Crew Elmer! 👏

Next week’s HoWL target is: 3.4

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Next week, we need to continue to work hard, get smart and be kind!

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Hannah-May! Hannah-May often finds it a challenge to keep quiet during lesson time when she should be focused on her learning and this often has a negative impact on the quality of work that she produces. However today she has been amazing! She has been really focused on her learning throughout the day and as a result has produced some great work! Well done Hannah-May! Now lets keep this up! 🙌🤩👏👍

Crew Shields – 12/3/21

Another busy day in Crew Shields as we further consolidated our Maths using a concrete resources. The children used the resources to help them share larger amount into equal groups. This is quite a tricky concept but the children have preserved and give it 100%. We’ve had a fantastic week getting settled back into our normal routines now we’re all back together. The children have really enjoyed our expedition and exploring teeth as we start our journey into the digestive system.

Crew Shields Average : 2.9

Targets for this week : 3.2

How can we improve?

To further improve, Crew Shields need to ensure that they have a consistently positive attitude to learning to allow them to be successful in all learning.

Crew Shields Be Kind Howl Hero – Chloe
Chloe is always polite and helpful towards her peers and the adults in our bubble. She is always willing to give a helping hand when she can to ensure other children are successful. This makes Chloe a fantastic role model to her peers. Well Done Chloe.

Crew Gerrard (12/3/21)

We’ve all survived our first week back – well done Crew Gerrard! We’ve had a week where we have been getting back into the swing of things and re-setting our expectations. Today, in maths, we’ve been working on finding equivalent fractions and adding them together. We’ve also been enjoying our reading sessions today and we were really focused on our learning. Today, our HoWL Heroes are:

Work Hard: Keegan for persevering with maths and always trying his best 😁

Get Smart: Ellie-May for being a superstar and working out all of her maths problems 😃

Be Kind: Maxi for being really kind during our reading lesson and supporting his peers 😄

Our HoWL average was 2.9 today, but we’ve had a few of our Crew members missing and had a really solid day overall. I wonder if we can show that we are ready to learn quicker? 🤔

Have a great weekend, guys! 😆
