Crew Gerrard (24/3/21)

Work hard Wednesday! We’ve had another busy day in Crew Gerrard, which we have all said has flown by. We enjoyed a call with Green Top, who shared their recent Expedition, which we critiqued. We then worked on our writing and understanding the features of a persuasive text. We have also undertaken our reading test and I am really proud of the effort and determination I have seen. Our HoWL Heroes for today are:

Work Hard: Sophia for showing such a fantastic attitude to her reading test – you have done amazing! 😁

Get Smart: Zane for being really determined to learn and improve on his reading skills for the test – well done! 😃

Be Kind: Belle for helping everyone smile after a tough day of assessments – we appreciate it! 😄

Our HoWL average was 2.9 today, which is a slight improvement. Crew Gerrard have pledged to listen more carefully tomorrow 😆

Another fantastic day in Crew Wilson today!

Highlight of the day: We completed an arithmetic test today and worked so hard at each of the questions. It was great to see the children using our working walls to help them work out the answers, they have really got smart today!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: This goes to Finn and Eva for their fabulous collaboration this afternoon in expedition, your castle gate came out brilliantly as you followed the instructions and worked together, great stuff!

Get Smart: This goes to Dalton today for being super smart and having great answers to my questions, keep it up!

Be Kind: This goes to Toby today for his kindness to his crew and the classroom, Toby uses his initiative all the time to keep everything in ship shape, well done!

Howl Average: Staying steady at 3.2 – absences have brought our score down today but we have had a much better day for listening and working hard, well done Crew Wilson!

Crew Marsh: 24/03/21

Star moment

Star moment today was enjoying time with the Crew at lunchtime, it was great to play a team game all together on the tyres … although it is not as easy as it looks! It was great to be a crew together, encouraging each other and being kind.

Average is: 3.6! 😁😁

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh’s target for tomorrow is to make sure that they are putting their hands up if they need something, we are starting to get out of our seats again far too much.

Howl Hero:

Our Get Smart Hero today is Millie!

Millie has been incredibly kind today and looking after her peers if they are not feeling as confident, this was great to see and was real crew spirit! 💕💕

Everyone in Crew Marsh today has worked really hard in their reading paper, they have made sure they have answered all of their questions and I feel really impressed. Well done Crew Marsh! 😊😊👏

Crew Longley Temporarily Closed

FAO Parents/Carers with pupils in Crew Longley

Following LFD testing this evening, we are led to believe that we may have another positive staff case. Therefore, the member of staff has booked a PCR test for tomorrow.

Therefore, we are going to close Crew Longley as a precaution until we have the confirmed PCR result.

Mr Longley will post some ideas for the children to be on with in terms of home learning tomorrow via DOJO/G Classroom. If we then find out that the bubble is closed for the remainder of the week, we will set up some home learning packs which will can be collected from school for the last day or two.

I am sorry for any inconvenience caused but as you are aware, we have to follow Government guidelines when it comes to positive cases and bubble closures.

Thank you for your understanding.

Crew Gerrard (23/3/21)

Testing Tuesday! We have started our Spring assessments for this term. We have completed our Spelling and Grammar test today and we’re working on our resilience and ensuring that we’re doing our very best throughout! We’ve also had some great discussions in our writing session, which we will be putting to good use. Today, our HoWL Heroes are:

Work Hard: Jolie for showing such fantastic determination and dedication to her test! It has really showed! 😁

Get Smart: Ellie-May for showing fantastic listening, which has enabled her to grow in confidence! 😃

Be Kind: Sapphire for always helping others when they find their work tricky – you are such a supportive peer! 😄

Our HoWL average was 2.7 today! I wonder if we can show more resilience in our tests tomorrow? 😆

Crew Thiede 23.3.21

It felt a little bit empty in our crew today but that hasn’t stopped us from working hard and having fun!

We began to think about Easter today! We are all very excited for the Easter bunny to visit and have started some beautiful Easter crafts! We have also been thinking about the change in the weather that we see at Easter time and how there are lots of new little animals appearing too!

Stay tuned the rest of the week to see what Easter learning happens in Crew!

Today’s HOWL hero is Franklyn. He was a little shy this morning coming into school but with some determination he was soon happily working hard with his crew.

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 23.3.2021

We have had a fantastic but very quiet day in school today, it’s been very strange being the only Crew in Year One, but we have definitely worked hard enough for both classes today!

Highlight of the day:

Our expedition lesson this afternoon was brilliant, everyone collaborated so well in their small groups to start to plan and build their part of our final product, I cannot wait to see how it turns out!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: This goes to Tommy T today for following the instructions in writing and finishing the task before the end of the lesson, well done Tommy!

Get Smart: This goes to Aleks for his fantastic answers in maths, Aleks is definitely a mathematician in the making and smashed his Diagnostic 5 because he listened carefully in the lesson, great work!

Be Kind: This goes to Perrie for always going out of her way to make sure her Crew are happy, both in the classroom and on the playground, well done Perrie!

Howl Average:

3.2 – a few absences have brought our score down but we are seeing a lot more 3’s and 4’s coming out in our scores as we are listening and paying attention much better, let’s keep it up all the way to the end of the week!
