Crew Welburn’s Daily Blog 15.4.2021

Thursday✅

We have been word collectors today in Crew Welburn. We used what we had noticed during the performance of The Wizard of Oz yesterday to collect adjectives and verbs ready to write our stories next week. We came up with some wonderful vocabulary!🌟

HOWL Heroes:

Work hard: Tiarna👏

Get smart: Charlie👏

Be kind: Elijah👏

HOWL Score: 2.8 Well done Crew Welburn, this is better than yesterday.

Star moment

Star moment today was the children in crew at the end of the day – it was good to hear the children give reasons as to why they think they have scored themselves what they have. This something as a Crew I really want to work and improve of the coming weeks.

Average is: 2.8!

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh’s target for tomorrow again is to make sure that they are listening to every instruction and following it. We are really trying to make sure that everyone in Crew Marsh can follow an instruction to a T.

Howl Hero:

Our Work Hard Hero today is Sophia!

Sophia worked so hard in our writing lesson today! Her writing was amazing and it was great to see that she applied the different skills like she had learnt. Your similes were great Sophia, keep it up!

Crew Ferguson Daily Post 15.4.21

Today has been a sad day in crew today. We are saying goodbye to our student teacher Mr Marshall. He has been a great support over the last term and has supported the children and staff greatly. We have given him a little present and a lovely handmade card from the children whilst also having a little celebration to say thanks. We wish him the best of luck for the future. Thank you Mr Marshall.

The children have completed another section of the Wizard of the Oz text in writing. They used adjectives and conjunctions to tell the reader all about Dorothy and her feelings. They then impressed Miss Ferguson when they also included speech marks to show the reader when the characters were talking and shouting.

A lovely day in crew. See you all tomorrow.

What a terrific Thursday it is!

We have had a lovely day in our crew today. We have wrote the next plot point in our narrative. We have learned all about odd and even numbers in maths. This afternoon, we spent some time in the afternoon saying a farewell to Mr Marshall who sadly will be leaving us tomorrow. All the children and staff in year 2 wanted to say a massive thank to him for all his help and support since January.

HOWL average in our CREW today is 3.4

Wonderful Wizard of Oz Wednesday! 🔮🌟

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today’s ‘star moment’ has to be the Wizard of Oz production that the children were lucky enough to watch! 🎞 The children really enjoyed watching the play and were great at joining in where required! Unfortunately I missed it but I could hear all of the cheering and chanting from the classroom! The buzz when the children came back into the classroom was also lovely and demonstrated just how much they had all enjoyed it! 😁 Another ‘Star moment’ was also the effort that children and parents went to in dressing up for the day! Well done to Frankie for winning the ‘best dressed’ prize as the Good Witch of the North! 👏 (As voted for by Crew!)

Todays HoWL average is: 2.9

A great score today Crew Elmer! We are getting closer to that 3.0!

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

All crew members need to make sure that they are ‘being kind’ to each other at all times.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Harry! Harry was chosen by myself for ‘getting smart’. Harry always listens in class, ensures that he gets at least the expected ‘Gold standard’ if not ‘Green standard’ and ensures that his work is beautifully presented. Today I was really impressed with the presentation of Harry’s work in all subjects. Harry was also praised by his crew members for being kind and helpful today and supporting them when needed. Amazing day Harry! Well done! 🙌🤩👏👍

We’re off to see the wizard!! 🧙🏻 Today we enjoyed our special treat watching The Wizard of Oz production and dressed up as the characters. The children sat absolutely amazing watching the show, displaying green standard behaviour 🤩 We had so much fun and joined in with singing and clapping. We booed the wicked witch and we helped Dorothy and her friends find the wizard!

All the children were winners for their efforts for their costumes, but the overall winner was Aubree! She dressed up in a beautiful handmade Munchkin dress. She looked amazing, well done!
We had a lovely circle time where we chose a favourite outfit to talk about. The children paid each other some lovely compliments 🥰

Crew Wilson – Oz Fashion

You know it isn’t a non uniform day in Crew Wilson without a fashion show! Check us out strutting our stuff on our Oz catwalk👇🏻

Today has been a blast! The children wowed each other with their efforts in regards to fancy dress and as a crew voted for the best dressed! They then enjoyed a wonderful theatre production which they couldn’t stop talking about afterwards 😀.

They have worked hard to get smart during maths learning today when we began to look at division. We are looking forward to continuing this tomorrow!

Well done everyone, a brilliant day! X

Today we went to see the wonderful Wizard of Oz🧙🏼‍♂️

The children looked amazing in their Oz themed costumes. We had lots of Dorothy’s, wicked witches and Tin men.

The children really loved seeing the special performance of the Wizard of Oz today! They sang along, clapped their hands and booed the Wicked Witch of the West.

We were so proud of the children today! They were amazing examples of our values showing our visitor how special our crew is!

Successful Swimming Session!

Year 5 have completed their first swimming session today. I think a lot of the Year 5 Crew would admit that they were quite nervous. I am really proud to say that we have managed to conquer our fears and achieved the best that we could. You listened carefully, helped keep others safe and had a great time.

I know that your Crew Leaders and Deputy Crew Leaders are very proud of you all.

We will also be doing a Super Swimmer of the week for each Crew. This week, they were:

Riley for putting his nerves aside and loving swimming!

Noah for showing great improvement, after being a little nervous.

Keep an eye out for next week’s Super Swimmer’s! We can’t wait for next Wednesday for our next swimming session 😆🏊‍♂️
