Crew Daily Post 09.10.20

Happy Friday People! 🙌

What an exciting day 🤩 it has been today in Crew Elmer today celebrating ‘World Mental Health Day’! ❤

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Our ‘star moment of the day’ was when the children were listing activities that made them ‘feel good’ 😊 It was lovely to hear 👂 the different things that the children do to make them feel ‘happy’ 😁 The children then created their own wellbeing handprints to be displayed on the wall in the hall! Watch this space for the final product! 🤩

Another ‘star moment’ of the day was Esme winning the ‘Golden Ticket’ for most improved handwriting in Crew Elmer this week. Esme tended to write her letters very close together and these would also often be very small. However, this week she has made a conscious effort to ensure that she writes a little bigger and that her letters aren’t so squished together. I wonder if you can keep this up Esme?! We all hope that you enjoyed your ‘cake and shake’ with Miss Laing as we didn’t get to see any evidence of this today! You must know us well that you didn’t even dare to bring your cake into the classroom! 🤣 Meanie! 🤣 Maybe you could vote for me next week Crew Elmer?! 🤣 🍰😛

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.4

WOW! 🤩 I think that this is the highest daily HoWL average that we have had so far! I believe this is down to how hard lots of the children have worked today and also because we almost had a full Crew house! 👍 I wonder… can we keep this up?

This week’s HoWL target is: 2.9

How can we improve this next week?

Next week, Crew Elmer need to continue to work hard and have a positive attitude towards their learning at all times, as well as remembering to be kind to ALL crew members. I know we can do it Crew Elmer! 👍

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Crew Elmer nominated Lily-Beth for our ‘HoWL hero’ today, for ‘working so hard’. Lily-Beth hasn’t been at school this week so it was lovely to see her return today! 😁 She has slotted straight back in with an incredibly positive attitude and worked hard all day! This was fabulous to see and was recognised by us all in Crew Elmer! 👍

Learning legend:

This weeks ‘Learning Legend’ was Sienna! How could it not be this girl this week?! This girl has absolutely worked her socks off this week at trying her best to achieve 4’s in all three HoWLS! She has been focused on her learning in EVERY lesson, even during all of the different activities on Party Day! She always gives 100%, has a positive attitude to her learning and as a result is getting very smart! Her coding skills in computing this week blew me away and how quickly she was able to grasp new concepts. Sienna has also been very helpful in the classroom and has supported her crew members both inside and outside of the classroom, ensuring that they are playing nicely and working hard! This week I cannot fault this girl and I really hope that this continues! Excellent work Superstar Sienna! Well done! 🥇👏👍🙌🤩

Weekly overview:

See below our exciting phase video to sum this week up! 👇

Crew Attendance:

Our latest attendance was 93.51% This means that we are working towards the minimum expected standard (97%) this week!

Crew Shields – 9/10/20

Crew Shields have had a really good week. They have really settled into what each of our expectations should look like in the learning day. I have been blown away by some of the writing produced by the children this week! I have been beyond proud of them and I’m excited to see what they come up with in future writing pieces.

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.1

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Next week, Crew Shields need to continue working on their pace while completing learning tasks.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Be Kind hero today is: Maddie

Maddie is always polite and respectful to her peers. She holds doors for her peers and is always willing to include them.

Learning Legend:

Alicia has been a delight to teach since September. She is working hard in all areas of your learning and always has a positive attitude. Alicia has been building her independence during learning activities and is taking on board the feedback. I have started to notice her confidence growing and I look forward to seeing her continue to blossom throughout Year 3. Well done.

Handwriting Hero:

Our handwriting hero for this week is Chloe.

Attendance:

98.13%
This meets the attendance target of 97%.

Crew Godley Daily Blog 08.10.20

What a wet and wonderful day we’ve had! The children have had a splashing good time outside! It was lovely to go on a ‘Bear Hunt’ and some of the children made up their own story! This was a fantastic opportunity to develop our communication and collaborative skills. We couldn’t go round the muddy puddles, we had to go through them!

It was lovely to see children at the writing area today applying the skills we have been developing this week, pencil grip and fine motor skills when mark making. SJ was drawing Mario in his house and Declan drew a fab picture of himself thinking carefully about the shapes he needed.

HoWL Heroes today were:

Working Hard: Dylan, for settling back into Crew today and setting a perfect example of what working hard looks like during Crew sessions.

The same went for Charlie, Charlie is a role model in F2 and always shows us he is getting smart by working hard. He helped his peers order numbers to 20 today during quick math’s. Well done Charlie.

Crew Nicholson Daily Blog 8.10.20

Today started as a very wet rainy one ☔️ However in foundation this means wellies and coats on and enjoying some much needed time outside after our learning time.

Highlights from today:

In provision, I noticed the children using the maths resources in the sand to match objects to the numicon. There are lots of opportunities for children to learn through play in provision and explore, it was great to see them initiate their own learning.

During phonics we listened to environmental sounds today and had to find the right picture to match the sound. The children are really getting good at listening carefully 👂🏼🌟

See you all tomorrow for Mental Health day, we have lots of fun activities planned 💛💛💛

Crew Thiede 8.10.20

Fabulous Thursday!

Highlight of the day

Today our crew worked incredibly hard! We tried our first silent conversation which we all really enjoyed and were able to share lots of ideas about the art work we were critiquing!

HOWLs

Today our crew average score was 3.4 ⬆️

Today our HOWL heroes were…

🌟 work hard – Theo

🌟 get smart – Harry

🌟 be kind – Catalina

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 08.10.20

Wow! What an interesting day it has been in school today! ⭐

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today I praise the excellent open ended and thoughtful questions ❓ that the children asked our ex-miner ⛏ visitor today. The children were well spoken and listened attentively throughout the session. We all learnt lots and this experience and the information gathered is going to be extremely beneficial as we move forward with our expedition learning.

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.9

This is a little improvement from yesterday which is very pleasing to see! 😊 Most of our crew have been getting on with each other much better at break times. I wonder if we can improve this tomorrow?

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow Crew Elmer need to make sure that we are ALL ‘being kind’ at all times especially at lunch times as this seems to be where most problems are arising occurring. Remember our rules for ‘playing kindly’ at crew times. 💕

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Crew Elmer nominated Rowen for being our ‘smart’ ‘HoWL Hero! I praised Rowen for his fantastic attitude all day today! 🤩 He has listened to everything that I have said all day, met ‘Gold’ standard in all lessons and produced some fabulous work especially in ‘The Write Stuff’! Fantastic work Rowen! 👍 Keep this up little man, we are all so proud of you! 👏🙌⭐😁 Oh and how could I forget he was also an absolute ‘superstar’ ⭐ (according to Ray!) during our question and answer time with our key speaker and he even got to wear the miners helmet! ⛑ Look at that beaming smile! 😁 I tell you what Rowen…it is moments like this that really make my day and this is why I love coming to school to teach you all! 😊 More moments like this please Crew Elmer! 👍
