We have had a great day in Crew Wilson today!

Highlight of the Day:

We re-enacted the story of Rama and Sita in the hall as part of our expedition, then performed a Diwali dance, we had so much fun!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: Finlay is our Work Hard howl for today after his Oscar winning performance in our acting session, well done!

Get Smart: Keira-Leigh is our Get Smart howl for today as she had some fantastic answers when discussing what we had learned about Hinduism.

Be Kind: April is our Be Kind howl for today as she has been very empathetic towards her friends when they have been sad, well done April!

Howl Average:

We’ve had a very exciting day but our listening skills have needed a bit of improvement, so our score has taken a dip to 2.6, but I’m sure we will get it back up to a higher number for the end of the week.

Crew Gerrard (05/11/20)

Hi everyone,

What a great day we have had in Crew Gerrard, I am really impressed with how settled and confident everyone was with their learning. Keep it up! It was difficult to choose the HoWL heroes for today and they are:

Working hard: Lucas 🦸‍♂️

Get smart: Zane 🦸‍♂️

Being kind: Ruby 🦸‍♂️

Our HoWL average was 3.3!

Well done and let’s see if we can get a higher HoWL score tomorrow!

Crew Shields – 5/11/20

Today in writing, the children have continued to write the next plot point of The Present. It is lovely to see the children become more independent with their writing which is lots of progress since September. The children are becoming more confident with writing and they are starting to apply the skills to the writing lenses. They are really enjoying being Carcroft Authors!

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.9

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

To improve further, Crew Shields need to work on their pace and ensure they are completing their learning in the allocated time.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Get Smart hero today is Jack!

Jack has been working really hard to ensure that he is continually improving with his writing. He has become more independent and is working on his working memory.

Today, we could’ve given anyone HOWL hero… but the lucky 3 were:

Work hard: Maxi 🧑

Get smart: Olivia 😒

Be kind: Skyler 😍

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 3.0! We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.

Well done Crew Kent 👍

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 04.11.20

Wonderful Wednesday! ⭐ Despite today being a little bit of a different day with lots of surprises 🎄🎁🖍 the children still showed that they can ‘work hard’, ‘get smart’ and ‘be kind’.

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today I haven’t been in the classroom very much due to lots of busy meetings but it was great coming back in this afternoon to hear about the discussions that the children had been having around our new expedition question, ‘What is the most valuable gift that we can give?’ which we will be delving into more next week.

Todays HoWL average is: 3.2

This might not be as high as our previous days but I am still happy that we are above 3.0 so well done Crew Elmer! 👏

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.3

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow Crew Elmer need to make sure that they are all ‘being kind’ to each other at all times. 💕 This includes thinking about what they are going to say before they say it.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today there were so many praises that we didn’t have time to listen to them all but it was so lovely to hear so many positive comments about each other. The majority around sharing Christmas crackers and pulling them in different pairs ensuring that no one felt left out. This was so nice to hear on such a special day. However, the child who received the HoWL Hero today was Frankie for being ‘super smart’. I was blown away by Frankie’s reading today as well as her rapid recall of times tables. This girl has definitely proved that she is ‘green standard’ in reading and times tables today! Well done Frankie! 👏🙌👍🤩⭐

Crew Marsh:4/11/20

My star moment today was hearing the children this afternoon discuss our new topic question, the children came up with some lovely ideas and it was nice to hear their opinion.

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.5! AGAIN 😁👍 (We are having a very consistent week this week)

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 2.7

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow, Crew Marsh need to make sure the classroom is looking tidy at all times! Miss Smith and I still had to tidy the classroom after school and throughout the day… lets get this right tomorrow!

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Be Kind hero today is Aaliyah!

Aaliyah worked really hard in her math lesson today, she really knuckled down and by the end of the lesson she could add numbers where she has to exchange in one of the columns. Well done Aaliyah! You have made Miss Smith and I feel really proud! 👌💕

Highlight of the day

Today we learnt about Hinduism in our first case study. The children discovered different important parts of Hinduism and thought about how this is similar to religions that we already know about.

We also had a lovely discussion in Crew time about how it is important to make our own choices. We linked this to our RE case study and events that are happening in the world right now. I can’t wait to carry this on and hear more of the children’s ideas and opinions.

HOWLs

Today our HOWL score was 3

Today our HOWL heroes were

🌟 Work hard – Jude

Wednesday ✅ Another day where the children have made me beam with pride with their attitude to their work 🌟🌟 We have continued with our mark making, practising drawing different shapes and lines and today we were drawing a cat after reading Winnie the Witch. I was AMAZED with the work the children produced, they worked so hard and each and every single child were beaming with pride with their work and rightly so! This is a fantastic attitude to have to our work 🌟

You might notice that your child might come home looking a little different to how they came to school that morning 🙊 This is purely because they are having fun and experimenting! They lay down on the floor to chalk if they find it comfy, they play with water, sand, paint, play dough, glitter, you name it, we do it! Of course we do our best to protect their clothing but it is difficult to keep a child immaculate at nursery! The more messier, the more fun they have had learning!

HOWL Hero

Working Hard – Addison-Jean

Addison-Jean worked so hard today in her mark making and really paid attention to the detail in her work. She took pride and care in her work, well done! 🌟🌟
