Crew Gerrard (26/11/20)

Hi everyone,

It’s been another great day today in Crew Gerrard. Your attitude to learning continues to impress me and your effort is fantastic. I know that we have some tired minds, but we have one more day before a well earned rest. It was difficult to choose the HoWL heroes for today, and they are:

Working hard: Tyler 🦸‍♂️

Get smart: Jolie 🦸‍♂️

Being kind: Ellie-May and Hassan 🦸‍♂️

Our HoWL average was 3.1!

I want to see that continuing tomorrow! 😆

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 26.11.20

Tricky Thursday! Another testing day with numerous technical issues, delays and communication difficulties! However, we have had a successful day and managed to pull through, yet again! Luckily, today was the last of that and tomorrow I am back in the classroom! YAAAAYYY! 🤩

Star moment of the day:

Today’s ‘Star moment of the day’, has to be the quality of the writing that the children produced in The Write Stuff today. The children had some great ideas again for ‘chotting’, especially Lily-Beth! I really don’t know where she gets her ideas from but they are fantastic! 🤩⭐ It was also lovely that so many of Crew Elmer wanted to read their sentences out to me and the rest of their crew! 👍🙌👏📝✏ I really hope we can keep this fab work up for tomorrow! 🤞

Todays HoWL average is: 2.9

Despite it not being the highest score this week it is still a good score for us and very reflective of how honest the children are with their HoWL scores as well the fact that we currently have two children off! I’m sure that tomorrow this score will improve! 🤞

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.3

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow Crew Elmer need to make sure that despite being in non-school uniform that they are working extra hard tomorrow enabling them to get super smart and achieve those 3’s and 4’s. As well as being kind of course! 💕 One more day Crew and it’s the weekend! 🙌

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today Miss Clarke was back and picked Sienna for our HoWL hero for working hard in Maths this morning. It was lovely to hear how hard Sienna and Esme had been working as I didn’t get the opportunity to see this lesson today. I will be keen to see tomorrow how much progress the children have made in this subject since my absence! I’m sure it’s LOTS!

Non-school uniform:

Just a little reminder that tomorrow to celebrate our class HoWL score last week and my return to school, the children are allowed to wear whatever they wish tomorrow as long as it is practical and sensible for indoor and out! See you tomorrow Crew Elmer! 😁

Crew Shields – 26/11/20

In Cojo, the children had to construct a town using some blocks, however, the town had a volcano, supermarkets, forests and water. They had to be able to reason why they had built their houses or factories in a particular place. The children were starting to use some good language to explain why their town was the best. They also asked questions of the other Crew before providing them with an I praise and I wonder.

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.0

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

To improve further, Crew Shields need to ensure that we not allowing ourselves to be distracted by others.

Our Be Kind hero today is Holly!

Holly is a very quiet member of Crew Shields which means that sometimes all the kind things she does can go unnoticed. However, we all know she is always kind and today this shone through when she was praising the videos made during Expedition. Well done Holly.

Crew Marsh: 26/11/20

My star moment today has been listening and watching the children in COJO, the idea was to create a town using the blocks for houses.. they however had some challenges to face such as a volcano. Well done Crew Marsh, it was amazing listening to your ideas and watching how you were all a team.

Average is: 3.1!

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.3!

How can we develop this tomorrow?

We have had a better but still slightly fussy day today, so I think our target for the week is for Crew Marsh to listen and follow every little instruction given. 👍

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Be Smart hero today is Jake !😎🙌👏

Jake has worked his socks off this week to make sure he is being the best he can possibly be. Well done Jake! You really have impressed us this week, keep it up!

Crew Longley – 26.11.2020

A mixed day for Crew Longley today. We have learnt about the origins of giving, recreated some scenes from the Christmas story and looked at building a success criteria for our writing. We have also had moments where our presentation and effort have been below par. Hopefully a blip.

Today’s HoWL average 2.9

Our HoWL target is: 3

How can we develop  Tomorrow, we need to really focus on the basics of presentation, listening and reading the question.

Howl Hero

Our Hero today was Kaitlynn. Kaitlynn was chosen by the crew today for her kindness. She has continuously shown this across lessons and it was lovely to hear numerous people recognise this.

Homework.

Please remember to bring your reading and homework back tomorrow. It is lucky dip day!

Water Bottles

We have had an increasing number of children without water bottles. Unfortunately, we do not have any way of providing cups or bottles at the moment. Please could I ask that everyone brings in a water bottle. Thanks

Work hard: Maxi 🧑

Get smart: Olivia 👩

Be kind: Skyler 👩

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 3.4! We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 25.11.20

Wonderful Wednesday! Today has been such a lovely day! 😊💕 I’m not sure if it was because I have taught more lessons today with Miss Clarke being off or because Crew Elmer have been little angels today! 😇

Star moment of the day:

Today’s ‘Star moment of the day’, has to be The Write Stuff! I haven’t had the opportunity to teach English since my isolation period began due to childcare issues and Miss Clarke wanting the experience so it was lovely to be able to lead it today! The children really blew me away with their ‘chotting’ and the ideas that they generated. I was also so impressed with how much some of the children had written! Leo, Harley and Lacey showed me their books on screen and it was definitely a WOW moment! 🤩 Well done Crew Elmer! 🤩😁😬🙌👏👍⭐📝 I’m already excited about teaching The Write Stuff on Friday! Even if we do have visitors watching! 👀

Todays HoWL average is: 3.1

This is an improvement on yesterday so well done Crew Elmer! I could tell from listening to the praises at the end of the day that the whole crew have been really kind to each other today which is great! 💕 I loved how Hannah helped Harley read his sentence today and how kind Leo had been whilst sitting next to Hannah! This is the Crew that I love to see! 💕

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.4

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow Crew Elmer need to be just as kind today and more children need to be achieving Green Standard in a number of lessons to secure a ‘4’ for their HoWLs.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today I actually got to choose the HoWL hero! 😬 I chose this young lady because in The Write Stuff this morning she had her hand up lots and contributed lots of great ideas. I was also impressed with how hard she worked at making sure that her writing was presented beautifully, that her spellings were spelt correctly and that she included all of the elements and lenses to ensure that she achieved Gold Standard. I also loved the lovely smile that came along with her when she presented her book to me in front of the laptop! For all of these reasons I chose Lacey-Niia! I hope that you have gone home bursting with pride because you truly deserve to be proud of yourself today Lacey-Niia. Well done! 👍👏⭐🙌🤩📝✏📒
