Crew Elmer Daily Blog 07.12.20

Manic Monday! Today has been a very busy Monday in Crew Elmer today! We have worked incredibly hard to help us to get smarter quicker! 📝✏📒

Star moment of the day:

Today’s star moment of the day has got to be The Write Stuff. The children were able to generate lots of great ideas for their ‘chotting’ and shared these well during ‘popcorn’. The children also enjoyed listening to Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer to help them to create some fantastic alliterative sentences such as: Meanwhile, Comet was crunching carrots’, ‘Dancer was dancing delightfully’ and ‘the reindeers were running riot’. I cannot wait to see Foundation Stages little faces when Year 4 read these special letters to them! 💕🤗

Todays HoWL average is: 3.2

Yay! This is a very impressive HoWL average! 😁 We haven’t seen it this high in a while so well done Crew Elmer! I believe that this is down to so many children achieving ‘Green standard’ in both English and Maths, as well as being super kind to each other! Excellent work Crew Elmer! 🙌

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.1

How can we develop this next week?

Crew Elmer need to continue to be as great as they have been today! Also please remember to use your manners at all times, there seems to be some children who keep forgetting! 🙊

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL hero went to Jazmin for ‘working hard’ all day! Sometimes this young lady finds Maths a challenge and despite getting some extra support in today’s lesson Jazmin worked so hard until she fully understood cm and m and then completed ALL of the fluency questions independently! I was amazed by the progress that she made in today’s lesson! Well done Jazmin! 🙌😁👏👍

Christmas Cards:

Just a little reminder that Christmas cards need to be brought into school by Friday 11th December as we need to isolate them for 72 hours before we can distribute them out. 🎅✉📪

Crew Boswell – 07.12.20

Good evening,

Day 7.  Our toy of the past today is the hula-hoop.

Did you know that the longest continuous hula-hoop spinning is 74 hours and 54 minutes?

A busy start to the week for us today saw us walk another 16 miles towards our target to reach the North Pole as well as making our own Christingle this afternoon.  Not to mention all the reading, writing and maths in between!

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.9

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 2.9

I wonder if…

I wonder if we can continue to take pride in our work and remember our presentation tomorrow.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Work Hard HoWL Hero today is Melisa!

What a great day for Melisa today.  As well as continuing to improve with her times tables, it was great to see her focus during our writing session and she has produced some good work using the writing rainbow to support her ideas!

Crew Thiede 7.12.20

Muddy feet, sleepy eyes and big smiles! 😀

Highlight of the day

There can only be one thing to talk about for highlights for today, our walk! 🚶🏻

We had such a wonderful time and the children did Carcroft Crew proud! We were so impressed with how many acts of kindness and friendship we saw. 👀

We jumped and splashed in muddy puddles, looked at the amazing things we have in our community and had some really great discussions about how we care for our environment.

At the church the children admired the stain glass and were fascinated by the grave stones and cenotaph thinking about the stories they tell, some really deep thinking!

HOWLs

Today our HOWL score was 3.3, a great start to the week!

Todays HOWL heroes today were…

🌟 Work hard – Milena for a great attitude on the walk and beautiful stain glass window in the afternoon

🌟 Get smart – Catalina for being such a supportive member of the crew

🌟 Be kind – Charlie E for offering to carry a friends things in his bag when they forgot theirs

Today the whole Crew deserve such a big pat on the back for their amazing attitude and for making today a truly enjoyable and memorable day! ❤

Keep your eyes peeled for all the photos on This Week in the Phase 📸

Crew Gerrard (07/12/20)

Hi everyone,

It’s been a great start to the week, where Crew Gerrard have worked really hard today, especially when it came to planning their independent writing. It was difficult to choose the HoWL heroes for today, and they are:

Working hard: Jolie🦸‍♂️

Get smart: Kian 🦸‍♂️

Being kind: Alicia🦸‍♂️

Our HoWL average was 3.0!

Let’s have more of the same tomorrow! 😆

Crew Marsh: 7/12/20

My star moment today was watching the children create their Christingle, ask them to see if they can remember what each stands for?  👌✔🎁🍊

Average is: 2.8

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.3!

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow, again we need to make sure we are chatting less and concentrating more in all lessons.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Be Smart hero today is Lottie!😁

Lottie really impressed me in our writing lesson today, she had some lovely ideas and made sure her handwriting was nice and neat! Well done Lottie! ✏👏😁

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 07/12/2020

We have had a great first day back in Crew Wilson!

Highlight of the day:

Highlight of the day has been our PE lesson with Coach Shelley. We learned a new dance to a Christmas song and got to show off our fabulous freestyle moves at the end!

I also want to shout out the whole Crew for their great effort in Write Stuff this morning, we have produced our most beautiful work to date, well done!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: This goes to Keira-Leigh for her great self-assessment today. Keira-Leigh knew her sentence wasn’t the best work she had done so she corrected it all by herself, well done!

Get Smart: This goes to Daisy for her amazing knowledge of the Nativity Story. Daisy could tell the whole class exactly what happened when the Angel visited Mary, well done!

Be Kind: This goes to Bobby-J for sharing his resources in our expedition lesson this afternoon. He waited patiently for his turn and was the first person to offer help to others, well done!

Howl Average:

We are currently at a 3.45, if we keep going like this all week we will definitely be earning a spin on the reward wheel!
