To hook into our new maths unit on multiplication and division we used mini m&ms to create equal groups and linked this to the multiplication sums. Everyone worked really hard and we were even allowed to eat the chocolate at the end!

Today in our experience lesson we pretended to be on a bus. We all bought our tickets from bus driver Nandi and found somewhere to sit. There were people listening to music, drinking their coffee and even reading a book. Unfortunately there were more people than seats so some people had to stand up! We rang the bell and got off at the train station!
I was absolutely blown away by some of the writing today.
As part of our hook week activities we have been listening to different genres of music and reflecting on how the songs made us feel. From Taylor Swift and Jay-Z to Bob Marley and Frank Sinatra, there was something for everyone!!
This afternoon we kicked off our spring term expedition with a great family learning session.
We used our art skills to produce some amazing pointillism fruit which will be displayed in our classrooms.
I wonder if you can guess what our new expedition is all about?
The children in KS1 were lucky enough to meet their volunteers that they read with on the laptop each week.
The children spoke to their volunteers and even told some jokes!
For our Christmas art slice we have been looking again at Georges Seurat and pointillism.
We started by doing the background which we then left to dry.
We then used primary colours for the star, lights, tinsel and baubles.
The KS1 children have loved their multi skills event this afternoon.
It was pleasure to be able to watch the Cheerleading and Acro performance on Thursday afternoon. The children from KS1 and KS2 performed the dances they have been learning during this term in lunchtime clubs.
The performance oozed confidence and the high quality learning that has taken place during these clubs. It was great to see children from previous years perform but also lots of new faces. A massive well done to all involved. They should be very proud of themselves.
