Show and tell crew 💕

KS1 have decided that every Friday we want to hold and show and tell crew where children can share something from outside of school with their crew. It’s a great opportunity for us to get to know each other better and practise our speaking and listening skills.

Christianity

Today we continued with our work on Christianity. We looked at a variety of pictures, thinking about what we could see. We then discussed the pictures in more detail thinking about how some of the pictures related to Christianity. We then became detectives where we tried to make links between the items and thought about the importances of each item. Oliver said, “some people believe God created the world”. Leyland explained, “there’s angels, people believe they carried God to heaven”.

We then explored what each symbol meant, our knowledge around why a cross was a symbol of Christianity was amazing! We also thought about all the good things about being a Christian. What a fantastic lesson this was! Such great collaboration and discussions taking place 🙂

What do Christians believe about God?

Today in KS1, we continued exploring what Christians believe about God. We played a game of ‘I spy’ to deepen our understanding about the christian faith and how this is represented in different artefacts. This led to some brilliant discussions around the Christian faith and why crosses, bibles and angels are important. Leyland was able to tell us that the bible is a book of stories which helps us understand the acts of Jesus and God.

Crew Shields Praise!

A huge well done to Crew Shields this week.

We’ve had lots more children reading at home and almost everyone has returned their homework which means I’ve been able to give out lots of raffle tickets. In addition, nearly everyone has scored 7 or more out of 10 on their spelling test. You’ve smashed it this week! Keep it up!
