Crew Godley have had a lovely day celebrating their favourite books, we dressed as our favourite characters ranging from the superheroes 🦸♀️ to princesses 👸 from our favourite stories. We’ve been ever so busy creating our own character masks – we loved Leyland’s Fantastic Mr 🦊 We also shared stories with our peers and went on a story hunt to find our favourite traditional tales, we all agreed that the Gingerbread Man and Jack and the Beanstalk was our favourite!

We set up our science experiment by measuring 200ml of water to put in each of the jugs. We then placed these into the freezer for 24 hours. After they had frozen, we placed one in the freezer, one on the radiator and one on the table. We then measure the amount of water (ice melted) every half an hour and recorded the results. We then plotted a graph to show our results. We wrote all this up in a scientific report including: a title, prediction, equipment list, method, results and conclusion.

What a fantastic Scotties session we had on Wednesday! We had to work as a team to take down the opponents base. We had to use our listening skills to wait for the different commands that Charlie gave. 👂🏻👭👬

A day to celebrate books! 🎈📚
Today we have talked about and discussed books. We took part in some quizzes, one of which was run by the National History Trust. This was really enjoyable as it was football themed and has lots of famous faces taking part.
We had a teacher swap which meant Miss Hamill came to read us our class text and Miss Shields went to read with Crew Thompson.
This afternoon, we had some time to do some word searches and colour our own bookmarks. It was lovely to see most people dressed up. We had a few Harry Potter characters with us today.

Yesterday afternoon, we explored how magnets work and discovered that when 2 poles are the same they repel each other and when 2 poles are opposites then they attract each other.
Wow! What a fun filled day we have had in Crew Thompson! 🥳 We started the day off with a reading wordsearch to get our brains warmed up. We followed this up by taking part in the National Literacy Trust quiz online. This really quizzed our reading and football knowledge but we all did really well! We then reviewed our current book so that people can use these when looking for a book to choose to take home. We also visited the library and swapped our reading for pleasure book. We really enjoy visiting the library and seeing all the book available to us. Then, we took part in a draw-a-long and attempted to draw ‘The Gruffalo’. We all tried super hard with this and listened to the instructions really carefully. We have had a super day filled with lots of reading and some super great outfits! 🎩🧸👗

This week in Scotty’s the children were working as a crew to follow orders. Children were able to take it in turns and then timed themselves to see if they could beat their time. They managed to shave 3 seconds off their time.

Crew Hamill have had lots of fun today for World Book Day and so many of us got dressed up as our favourite characters! We began the day by joining a Zoom Meeting and taking part in the World Book Day Quiz which was so much fun. They tested our knowledge on all things football and reading! There were some tricky questions but we gave it our best go. We have also coloured some book inspired quotes and our own bookmarks which have been personalised with our names. We are going to use these in our reading books for when we read at home 🏡
