Crew Welburn’s Weekly Reflection

What a fantastic week we have had in Crew Welburn! We’ve worked really hard in our writing and are half way through writing our story, we have been getting smart in maths to add numbers together, and we have been really kind when sharing the resources in provision.

Our HOWL Heroes:

Work Hard: Harrylee 🙌

Get Smart:  Kairen 🙌

Be Kind: Lylah 🙌

This week’s highlights:

Our highlight of the week has to be seeing the children work collaboratively in the provision area. It has been a little while since we had provision time in year 1 as we have been so busy, but the children really enjoyed this time and applied lots of their reading and writing skills from our lessons to the different areas.

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.3

This weeks HoWL average is: 3.2

Weekly HoWL target: 3

Well done Crew Welburn! It’s not been easy keeping your HOWL scores up when you’re tired, but you’ve done it!

Crew Wilson Weekly Review: 11/12/2020

We have had a busy and hectic week this week in Crew Wilson!

Highlight of the Week:

This week my highlight has been our Crew sessions. We have adopted a plant in our Crew which we have named ‘Leafy’, and we tell it how we are feeling every morning, because talking to plants makes them grow huge! We have decided that Leafy is a great listener as he cannot talk back! We have also tried out some new ways of answering questions in Crew sessions, such as a ‘whiparound’ and ‘popcorn answers’ and we absolutely love it, it is so great to see all of the Crew participating and listening to each other, well done!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: This Howl goes to Finlay for his fantastic independent sentence that he had written about the Nativity Story in our Write Stuff lesson today, great work Finn!

Get Smart: This Howl goes to Daisy for her great attitude to learning in our Music lessons, she was actively involved and was having the time of her life dancing in time to the beat, well done Daisy!

Be Kind: This Howl goes to Stevie for her kindness out on the playground, ensuring every child had a turn at the game they were playing and asking children if they would like to join in too, brilliant Stevie!

Howl Average:

We have ended the week on a 3.3 – lots of reflection and pledges made for next week so we can get those fabulous 4’s ready for a big treat before we break up for Christmas!

Crew Godley Daily Blog 10.12.2020

What a fantastic day we’ve had today! So festive 🎄 My highlight of the day was watching the children at Christmas lunch, it was so lovely to see them all getting into the spirit of Christmas and enjoy their lunch together. A big thank you to Amiee and her team for such a lovely lunch 🎅🏼

We decided today we’d all like to sing a song for our grown ups ☺️ we hope you enjoy ⭐️

Crew Boswell – 10.12.20

Day 10.  Our toy of the past today is Operation.  How many of you used to love that game??

Did you know that the original version of the game was created by a university student?

A good day for us today and a great bounce-back after yesterday.  Some neat work in writing and some good concentration during maths has helped our scores as we push to beat our weekly target.

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.0

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 2.9

I wonder if…

I wonder if we can stay focused on our work tomorrow during some of the more difficult areas that we’ll be covering.

Today’s HoWL Heroes:

Our Be Kind HoWL Hero today is Freya!

Freya is a great friend to many in the crew and her patience and good manners make her easy to get along with.  She has been very supportive today and has helped others when they have been struggling.

Our Work Hard HoWL Hero today is Heidi!

Heidi has really focused on her own learning these last few days and it’s been wonderful to see her starting to take a few more risks in her writing to put her own stamp on her work.  Well done.

Our Get Smart HoWL Hero today is Tia!

Tia keeps going from strength to strength.  Her confidence improves almost daily and she keeps impressing us with her perseverance and concentration in her learning.  Today it was during maths where she managed to crack the tricky skill of converting and adding different lengths.

Crew Longley – 10.12.2020

Today we have been working on a Christmas surprise, running towards the North Pole, dividing by 5 and starting to create our final product for our expedition. And to top it all off, we enjoyed our Christmas lunch.

Today’s HoWL average 3.2

Our HoWL target is: 3.1

How can we develop:  Read a question fully and think about how we can prove the answer.

Our Hero today was Lydia S. She has worked really hard this afternoon to create a prototype of the final product. Well done!

Homework.

Please remember to bring your reading and homework back on Friday this week.

Crew Kent Daily Blog 10.12.20

Today in crew we worked hard in our reading comprehension to further our knowledge on the story “Holes”. The children read the text carefully to answer questions and pick out specific words to describe the characters feelings. 🙂😩

We also had a little visitor in our crew today. He was watching everything we were doing, he seemed to be interested in what Miss Ferguson was doing. The children thought it was hilarious how jumpy this little guy made Miss Ferguson 😬😂

The children were super excited to be going into the dinner hall for christmas dinner today. 🎄 They were very well mannered and enjoyed a lovely dinner. Thankyou to all the lunchtime staff, we all enjoy it very much.

Thursday ✔

Highlight of the day

We really enjoyed our Christmas Dinner today! 🍽 In the morning we did ‘this or that?’ Christmas edition in Crew! The dinner ladies must have read our minds because we had all our crew favourites at dinner time! It was really yummy!

The children have also worked really well as a crew today. We’ve had a couple of big conversations recently about being crew and how we haven’t achieved this so it was lovely to see that all that reflecting paid off and that we were more crew than ever! 👏🏻

HOWLs

This great crew work shows in our score today, an amazing 3.6! 🙌🏻

Our next job is now to focus on being a crew at lunch time!

Today our HOWL heroes were

🌟Work hard – Lilia for a great attitude in maths

🌟 Get smart – Ellie-May for making great progress towards her minimum expected standard in club 11

🌟 Be kind – Isaac for being a sensible helper in class
