Crew Welburn’s Daily Blog 15.12.20

Tuesday ✔

Highlight of the day:

We have had lots of fun in Crew Welburn today. We have made gift tags, we’ve given out Christmas cards and written up beautiful display work. This morning, we enjoyed doing our independent writing again and learning how to subtract in maths.

HOWL heroes:

Work hard: Lylah and Bronwyn 7👏

Get smart: Harriet 👏

Be kind: Heartley 👏

Our HOWL average was 2.8 today. We can do better tomorrow Crew Welburn.

A very busy start to the last week. We have been editing  our stories and dividing by 3. My favourite part was seeing the children busily creating a draft of their finished product, before creating different parts of their polished piece. I am sure we will really enjoy sharing these.

Today’s HoWL average 3.2

Our HoWL target is: 3.1

How can we develop: Follow instructions carefully to learn new skills and get smart

Homework.

Last week 50% of our crew read all week and completed their homework. These lucky crew mates had a lucky dip on Thursday.

Crew Boswell – 14.12.2020

Some great work today though the highlight has to have been during expedition and the ideas we came up with when designing our own stained glass windows.  We were able to assess our own work against a criteria and even managed to peer-assess with consideration and good feedback.

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.0

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

I wonder if…

I wonder if we can really take pride in our work and think about our presentation during our learning, especially in maths.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Get Smart HoWL Hero today is Tyler!

Some great work from Tyler today and even more impressive is his time management to ensure that he was able to complete it all.  Considering that we’ve only just started to focus on our 7 times tables, it’s clear that Tyler is ready for the challenge!

Crew Marsh: 14/12/20

My star moment today was seeing the children make their DT prototype. The children really concentrated on what they needed to do to achieve a good example. 👌👍😎

Average is: 2.9

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.3!

How can we develop this tomorrow?

We seem to have a lot to say this week! Make sure you save your chatting for break and lunch times!

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Be Smart hero today is Mia!😁✨👌👍

Mia has really impressed Miss Smith and I today in math, she has answered all of her questions independently and got on with her work quickly and efficiently. Well done Mia, we are so proud of you!

Nursery Advent Calendar Day 9

Happy Monday everyone! Here is day 9 of nursery advent calendar of songs. This was one of our favourites to sing about yummy mince pies 😍 Messiah was the perfect Santa, rubbing his tummy saying ‘mmm that’s just right’, well done Messiah!

Seems as the children have been extra good and on the nice list, they had another visit from Santa today 🎅 We listened for the reindeers on the roof and we heard Santa’s bell 🔔✨ We sang some Christmas songs with Santa and got to have our photo taken before getting a special treat. Not long now until the big day!

Hope you enjoy today’s song, come back tomorrow for day 10.

Crew Kent Daily Blog 14.12.20

Well today in crew we had a new addition. A new member to join Crew Kent. The children were being really kind and ensured our new starter was well looked after and all shared personal information about themselves during our crew circle. This may have overwhelmed our new crew member, as the rest of the crew shared lots! 😂🥰

They then made me burst with pride as they performed their final dance piece for the school website. This is to follow soon!

They have had real resilience this half term during their dance sessions and have worked so hard to produce a beautiful final dance piece. Here is a sneak peek of their final performance. 🕺💃

Well done Crew Kent. 😁

Crew Thiede 14.12.20

Highlight of the day

The children had a really good maths session today! After some confusion at the start they showed real resilience and were beginning to show a good understanding of the new strategies at the end of the session. Fingers crossed we all get a good nights sleep so our brains can remember all that new learning! 😴

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 14.12.20

Magic Monday! Today has been a very magical day in Crew Elmer – writing Christmas letters, seeing what our naughty elf has been up to over the weekend and evaluating our Christmas stained class windows ready for making tomorrow!

Star moment of the day:

This has got to be our ‘Expedition’ lesson this afternoon. The children self-assessed their stained glass windows designs and were very reflective and honest. However, what impressed me the most was how kind and honest the children were when conducting the ‘peer assessment’ element. It would of been easy for our crew to give their friends 10’s (being the best) but they were very honest with their scores and could also explain their reasoning. This was great to see! Well done Crew Elmer! 🤩🙌👍👏⭐✏📝

Todays HoWL average is: 3.4

WOW! A great score to start our Christmas week off! The children have proved today that despite Christmas just being around the corner they are still focused on their learning and are wanted to get super smart!

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.3

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Continue to follow our HoWLs at all times of day!

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Laila! 😁 Laila was chosen for ‘working hard’ all day and as a result she has produced some beautiful work. Laila has just got on with her work today, not been distracted by others and managed to achieve Green standard! Amazing work Laila! Well done! ✏📝⭐👏👍🙌🤩
