Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 8/1/2021

What a brilliant end to our first week back in Crew Wilson!

Highlight of the day:

My favourite part of the day is quickly becoming our morning crew sessions, especially now we have our online learners joining us via Google Classroom. It is lovely to see how the Crew involve their friends who aren’t in the room when sharing their thoughts and feelings and playing our Crew games, well done everyone!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: Dalton for his fantastic attitude to learning in our Read Write Inc lesson, well done!

Get Smart: Finlay for following instructions first time every time, keep it up!

Be Kind: Bobby-J for being kind in the playground and letting others join in with his game, well done!

Howl Average:

Work hard: Roxanne

Get smart: Deacon

Be kind: Sophia

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 3.6! We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.

Tremendous Thursday! 😊

Another great day in our crew today! 👍 We managed to either get everyone in school or learning from home today except for two crew members so that is a massive achievement and has really helped us all to have a successful day!

Star moment of the day:

This has got to be our reading lesson. Reading has been a little bit different this week but I was really blown away with how many children wanted to read aloud including those at home. It was lovely to have everyone involved and to listen to each other read. The children were also amazing at answering the different questions. Extra well done to those who completed it at home and managed to not only get all of the questions right but also submit their answers! 🙌👏🤩✏📝💻

Todays HoWL average is: 2.9

This is a great score! Excellent work Crew! Well done! 🤩⭐🙌👏👍

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.3

How can we develop this tomorrow?

I think if we can get all crew members either working online or in the classroom tomorrow then this will boost our score up to help us to get the minimum expectation which is 3! I am sure we can do this tomorrow crew! 🤞

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Leo! Today was the first day that Leo joined us from home. Leo only received a laptop this morning and he instantly got the laptop sorted, logged on and was the first to join our live chat. He also managed to navigate his way around Google Classroom (with a little bit of help from mum and Miss Hart 🙊) and completed all of the work set. His attitude has also been excellent all day and this has helped his first day to be a success! Great work Leo! 👍👏💻🤩⭐😊

It is absolutely fantastic to have most of the children back in school, it is like they have never been away 🥰 I loved hearing about their Christmas break, they really do bring so much joy in difficult times.

We began our day talking about the weather and they amazed me how well they can now describe different types of weather. We came up with some excellent words such as slippery, frosty, icy, freezing 🥶❄️ I wonder what words we can come up with tomorrow….

We have began our topic based on the question ‘Can we go to infinity and beyond?’ 💫🪐🌎☄️ We discussed what we already know about space and we discussed if the moon is made of cheese 🧀 😂  We had a special visitor from an Alien while we was eating our lunch!  We think he may be lost and looking for some friends so we are going to think about how we can help him.

Crew Godley Daily Blog 07.01.2021

Wow, what an exciting day we’ve had! We began by developing our fine motor skills to create our own planets and aliens 👽 👾 We had some fantastic discussions around what our creations looked liked, sounded like, how they moved or span if they were a planet! Lots of exciting and adventurous vocabulary was used.

This afternoon we had a alien encounter 👽👽 all of a sudden it went dark and the next thing we knew there was an orange alien running through the dinning hall! We think he may be lost so we need to draw him a map to help him find his way back home 🌍 He spoke a very strange language and the children were so excited to see him again roaming the corridors 🤣

Crew Ferguson (Thiede) 7.1.21

Another lovely day in Crew!

We have done some really great learning today. We started off with a character description of a fire dragon! The children wrote some fantastic sentences using adjectives. In maths we were introduced to the column method for addition, we had lots of success, I can’t wait to see what we can achieve tomorrow. In expedition we talked some more about kings, lords, knights and peasants! We are really enjoying this learning!

HOWLs

Todays HOWL score was 2.6

This is a small step up but we still need lots more crew members engaging in learning so that we can improve our score.

Today’s HOWL heroes were…

✨Work hard – Harry for fantastic writing in English and Expedition

✨Get smart – Ellie for always been a great role model of listening

✨Be kind – James for thinking about crew safety on the playground
