Crew Elmer Daily Blog 14.01.21

Tricky Thursday! ❄

Another interesting day today in Crew Elmer! When I drove to school this morning I was not expecting to see snow falling from the sky ❄⛄ or that I would be leaving school 🏫 at 1pm! I say the day was tricky as it was certainly a tricky journey home for me in the snow! ❄ It was also tricky for crew members to adjust to yet another bizarre day! However, yet again we got through it! 🙌 Snap shot below of my journey home on the quiet, snowy country roads…

Star moment of the day:

This has got to be seeing the children’s excited, happy faces 😊💕 this morning as the snow was falling! ❄⛄ Crew members enjoyed telling me all about their snow stories and what they would be up to when they got home today; sledging, snow ball fighting and snowman building! ❄⛄

Todays HoWL average is…

A mystery! Unfortunately due to some children leaving before lunch time today and myself also having to leave early due to the snow we were unable to collect in our HoWLs. Hopefully we can catch up tomorrow! 🤞

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.1

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Was the whole of Crew Elmer. Despite the snow falling, all children were sensible at break time when given permission to play in the snow. Also when in the classroom despite the temptation of wanting to look out of the window at the snow falling they all still remained focused on the task in hand, it was Miss Hart who was the problem! 🤣 The crew also adapted well when they were informed at lunch time that they would be leaving school early today. I hope that you have all had fun in the snow! ⛄❄

Today we worked super hard in maths and writing then as promised we had lots of laughs and fun in the snow ⛄❄ Hopefully you have continued to do so and can tell us all about it in crew tomorrow.😁

Due to a different day today I have chosen our HoWL heroes and will give the children their hero certificates tomorrow.

Crew Welburn’s Daily Blog Post 14.1.2021

What a fun Thursday we’ve had in Crew Welburn! We finally got the snow that the children had all been wishing for, and we even got to play out in it…until we realised that you get pretty cold and wet playing in snow 😅❄⛄

We didn’t quite get chance to give out HOWL heroes before getting organised for home time, but I will pass them out to the children tomorrow.

Work hard: Bronwyn 👏

Get smart: Scarlett 👏

Be kind: Harry 👏

HOWL Score: 3.0 Well done Crew Welburn! This is so much better than yesterday 🌟

Crew Gerrard 14.1.21

Hi everyone,

There is only one word to sum up today! SNOW! We did some really good learning in-between playing in the snow.

We continued our discussions about healthy eating ready for our persuasive writing next week. Then in maths we extended yesterday’s learning to 3 digits x 1 digit multiplication.

Todays HOWL heroes were

Work hard – Lucas

Get smart – Ellie-May

Be kind – Evie

Todays HOWL score was 2.6

Hope everyone has fun and stays safe playing in the snow ❄

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 14/01/2021

We have had an exciting but different day in Crew Wilson today! Timetable went out the window as soon as we saw the glorious white stuff falling from the sky, well done to everyone for still working hard even though we weren’t in our usual routine.

Highlight of the day:

I think this one is obvious – the snow has been our favourite part of the day! After Crew and Read Write Inc we went outside and were writing words in the snow, working together to make snowmen and even had a snowball fight which Mr Wilson lost! Great collaboration of the Crew to gang up and take me out, well done guys😂

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard – Finn and Jake for their fantastic effort in Read Write Inc today, Mrs Brown was blown away by how hard both of you guys worked, well done!

Get Smart – Tommy T for his commitment to listening and following instructions today without reminders, great work!

Being Kind – Luke for his awesome work in Read Write Inc with Mr Wilson. Luke worked so hard throughout the lesson and was kind to his friends by helping them sound out words, well done!

Howl Average:

We’ve risen back up to a more respectable 3.6 – well done to the whole Crew for improving those listening skills today, even with all the excitement of a snow day! Let’s see what tomorrow will bring 👀

Crew Longley and Shields – 13.01.2021

Another great day today. We have worked hard to write poetry, think about tally charts and read about Will the Warthog

Shields Average is: 3.0

Longley Average is: 3.5

Shields Weekly HoWL target is: 3.2!

Longley Weekly HoWL target is: 2.6

How can we develop this tomorrow?

By ensuring that we are ready to learn. We can do this by being organised in class and at hiome

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Shields hero today is Ava! 😁👌 She blew us away with with her attitude and engagement today!

Longley hero today is Keaton! Keaton has come back to school with a real can do attitude. We are so proud! Well Done!

Our online hero today is Kayden! Kayden really has worked hard to get smart. His beaming smile was a pleasure to see when he told me he was the hero!

Crew Nicholson 13.1.21

We have had a very busy day in nursery and managed to squeeze in so much learning!!

We are developing our creative skills and have progressed so that we can now cut and stick independently with little support. We continued making our rockets today and the children were so proud of their creations. We did this activity back in November for Bonfire night with a lot of adult support, so this time we wanted to see if the children could remember how we made them and see how their skills had progressed. They are doing fantastic! 🚀

We have also worked hard in our mark making session, producing some beautiful work drawing bears from the story ‘whatever next’. 🐻 We are getting much better at producing work that we take pride in, ensuring it is neat and tidy. At 3 and 4 years old this is amazing 🤩 Some children even thought what they could add to their pictures such as rockets, stars and the moon! 🚀 🌟 🌙

Phonics is a huge part of learning to read and we already have some children ready to begin some short Read Write Inc sessions. Today we learned the letter ‘m’ and identified objects that begin with ‘m’, then we had a go at writing it. I was so impressed with their first ever attempts 🤩🤩

Finally, I would just like to say a huge well done to those children and parents at home who are learning and sending me lots of fantastic photos! Keep up the great work, we are missing you all lots 🥰
