Crew Welburn’s Daily Blog 18.1.2021

Monday✅

Today, we have had lots of fun in our provision areas! Mrs Thorpe had a few children in particular who she was proud of – Nathan, Charlie, Lylah and Bronwyn. These children really blew her away with their independent sentence writing!
Our classroom has been filled with praises as well this afternoon. The children absolutely love looking for people to praise throughout the day and it is really nice to hear them boost each other’s confidence 🥰

HOWL Heroes:

Work hard: Lylah

Get smart: Scarlett

Be kind: Bronwyn

HOWL Score: 3. I’m really proud of how hard you have worked today Crew Welburn!

Year 1: Better late than never…❄🎅🏻

No need to adjust your calendars, we haven’t time warped back to December, but I have just found our Year 1 Christmas Story night video🤦🏻‍♂️

If you’re feeling the January blues watch this clip and go back to a simpler time before lockdown 3.0! We had such a great evening with stories, snacks, songs and dancing and cannot wait to have everyone back in the classroom together again 🤞🏻

Crew Wilson Weekly Review: 15/01/2021

We have completed our second week back at school and it has been a strange one, but the Crew have adapted and overcome the challenges we have faced and have produced some fantastic work.

Highlight of the week:

My highlight of the week is the brilliant work that everyone has completed in Crew Wilson. Both in school and online learners have worked so hard to get smart this week, even with the changes to the timetable and the distractions of the snow falling we have managed to complete some wonderful writing and have loved exploring our expedition work, well done Crew!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: Dalton and Luke for their fantastic effort in Read Write Inc, they are always so committed to the lesson and try their hardest to sound out and spell words correctly, well done boys!

Get Smart: Bobby-J for his brilliant questions in Crew this morning, great work Bobs!

Be Kind: Tommy F for taking a new crew member under his wing today, so kind!

Howl Average: 3.0 – A slight dip from yesterday but still going strong for a spin on the wheel!

Crew Welburn’s Weekly Reflection

We have been working really hard in Crew Welburn today at our phonics! We have learnt our new sounds, practiced our sounds that we already knew and done lots of reading. We even spotted our new sound in words around the classroom.

This week’s highlight has definitely got to be the snow! It was so lovely to see the children so excited and playing out with each other ❄🌨⛄

HOWL Heroes:.

Work hard: Bronwyn 👏

Get smart: Darcie 👏

Be kind: Heartley 👏

HOWL Score: 3.0 Well done Crew Welburn! This is so much better than yesterday 🌟

HOWL average for the week: 2.8 Lets try to improve this next week Crew Welburn.

Crew Marsh: 15/01/21

My star moment today was listening to the children read in our reading lesson, it was great hearing some of our shy crew members read to the rest of the crew. Well done Crew Marsh! 👏🙌📖📚

Average is: 3.2!👌

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.2

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Next week, Crew Marsh need to continue to be more mindful in putting their hand up rather than getting out of their seat, this is something as a Crew that we need to be mindful of.

Have a lovely weekend, I look forward to seeing you all on Monday 👍😁

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 15.01.21

Freezing Friday! ❄⛄😨

Well today has been another very different day in Crew Elmer with only having 5 crew members physically in the classroom! 🏫 I would have said that it has been a quiet day but those 5 in class certainly made up for those who were absent! 🤣

Star moment of the day:

This has got to be crew time this morning. It was so lovely to hear about everyone’s snow stories including those children who have been accessing remote learning. It appears that a lot of children had fun in the snow when they left school yesterday or stopped online learning! Building snow men, creating snow slides and having snow ball fights were just a few of the activities that children did! ⛄❄ Very jealous as there was no snow where I live when I got home! 🏡😶

Todays HoWL average is…

incomplete… with only having a few crew members in school today and a few online we did not record our HoWL scores due to so many crew members being absent, However, from the crew members that I asked it was lots of 3’s and 4’s! 🤩

This week’s HoWL target is: … I will add up our scores from Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and let you know next week what our HoWL target will be for next week!

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Was those crew members who made the extra effort to attend school today! 🏫 Great effort guys! ❄⛄⭐👏👍🙌

Crew Gerrard (15/01/21)

Hi everyone,

It was so good to see as many of you as possible. What a strange week it has been! I am really proud of how you have adapted to this week, so keep it up next week. It was difficult to choose our HoWL heroes today, but they are:

Work hard: Emily for producing a fantastic acrostic poem and challenging herself to do long multiplication.

Get Smart: Ellie-May for writing a lovely acrostic poem, which made me smile.

Be kind: Jolie for cheering me up!

Our HoWL average was 2.4 today!

Have a fantastic weekend, relax and I am really excited to see you all on Monday! 😆

Crew Marsh: 14/1/21

My star moment today was seeing the children in the snow. It was great to see them all having fun throwing snowballs, making snowmen and running about in the snow. Hope you all had a great afternoon in the snow at home!! ❄️⛄️

Average is: 3.2!👌

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.2

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh need to continue to be more mindful in putting their hand up tomorrow rather than getting out of their seat, this is something as a Crew that we need to be mindful of.

Tricky Thursday! ❄

Another interesting day today in Crew Elmer! When I drove to school this morning I was not expecting to see snow falling from the sky ❄⛄ or that I would be leaving school 🏫 at 1pm! I say the day was tricky as it was certainly a tricky journey home for me in the snow! ❄ It was also tricky for crew members to adjust to yet another bizarre day! However, yet again we got through it! 🙌 Snap shot below of my journey home on the quiet, snowy country roads…

Star moment of the day:

This has got to be seeing the children’s excited, happy faces 😊💕 this morning as the snow was falling! ❄⛄ Crew members enjoyed telling me all about their snow stories and what they would be up to when they got home today; sledging, snow ball fighting and snowman building! ❄⛄

Todays HoWL average is…

A mystery! Unfortunately due to some children leaving before lunch time today and myself also having to leave early due to the snow we were unable to collect in our HoWLs. Hopefully we can catch up tomorrow! 🤞

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.1

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Was the whole of Crew Elmer. Despite the snow falling, all children were sensible at break time when given permission to play in the snow. Also when in the classroom despite the temptation of wanting to look out of the window at the snow falling they all still remained focused on the task in hand, it was Miss Hart who was the problem! 🤣 The crew also adapted well when they were informed at lunch time that they would be leaving school early today. I hope that you have all had fun in the snow! ⛄❄

Crew Mcloughlin Blog 14.1.21

Today we worked super hard in maths and writing then as promised we had lots of laughs and fun in the snow ⛄❄ Hopefully you have continued to do so and can tell us all about it in crew tomorrow.😁

Due to a different day today I have chosen our HoWL heroes and will give the children their hero certificates tomorrow.
