Crew Gerrard (4/3/21)

Our last day before we’re back as a full Crew and we can’t wait to welcome back our online learners on Monday. We have had a really positive day and managed to get to grips with our fractions. We had a great attitude towards our learning! Our HoWL Heroes were:

Work Hard: Amelia for showing a great attitude towards adding fractions 😁

Get Smart: Ellie-May for a superb piece of writing 😃

Be Kind: Sapphire – you are such a role model to your Crew with your kindness and fantastic attitude 😄

Our HoWL average was 3.1 today, so it was a good way to end the school week! 😆

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 4.3.21

Highlight of the day: We had a lovely play time today where children worked in small groups at different activities. It made me so proud to see the Crew working together, involving other children and being kind to one another!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: Finlay for using his ‘storyteller voice’ when reading the story in phonics, well done!

Get Smart: Tommy T for following instructions and continually improving his listening skills, keep it up!

Be Kind: Mia for being kind in the playground and making sure everyone was happy playing together, great stuff!

Howl Average: 3.3

A great end to the week, we’ve finally cracked back into the 3’s and have improved our listening skills, still a bit of work to be done but we are heading in the right direction, well done Crew Wilson!

Crew Flaherty 4.3.21

HOWL Average: 3.00

We have had a fantastic Thursday today and have been continuing our narrative writing in English, learning about equal groups in maths and working together in PE.

Our HOWL Hero for Working Hard today is Amelia, who tried her best in every lesson and helped other members of our Crew.

The HOWL Hero for Getting Smart is Archie, for always listening in every lesson and showing that he is ready to learn.

Our HOWL Hero for Being Kind is Millie, who hasn’t changed and has been as helpful and considerate as always.

I wonder who our HOWL hero will be on Monday

Crew Kent Blog 4.3.21

Today, we could’ve given everyone HOWL hero… but the lucky 3 were:

Work hard: Kai for working really hard on improving his writing.

Get smart: Kelby – for her fantastic logo design.

Be kind: Kelby – for being supportive to all her peers.

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 3.0! We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.

Crew Marsh:4/3/21

Star moment

Star moment today was seeing the children’s finished artwork. They have all worked really hard and we have got some beautiful mosaics as a result. Well done Crew Marsh!

Average is: 2.9 – an improvement from yesterday!

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh’s target next week is to make sure they are concentrating on their learning and not as much talking, today this seems to have been all day and I have had to constantly remind children about what working hard and getting smart looks like…. again

Howl hero:

Work hard hero today is Aaron!

Aaron has worked so hard all week! He has really shone and tried so hard in all of his lessons every single day! Well done Aaron, I am so impressed with you!😁😁

Crew Welburn’s Daily Blog 4.3.2021

Thursday ✅

Today, we enjoyed practicing our PE skills outside with the footballs and basketballs. We were learning how to throw and catch and kick accurately 🏀⚽ We’ve had lots of fun today and tried really hard to cheer each other up by making each other laugh!

HOWL Heroes:

Work hard: Tiarna 👏

Get smart: Heartley 👏

Be kind: Bronwyn 👏

HOWL Score: 2.9 We will try to get to our target of 3 on Monday Crew Welburn.

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 03.03.21

Woeful Wednesday!

Today hasn’t been the best in Crew Elmer… we are all feeling very tired and are most certainly ready for the weekend. One more day guys! Hold in there!!

Star moment of the day:

Today’s star moment has got to be our ‘Hooked on Booked’ session. Today we trialed ‘echo reading’ and I was really impressed with how in sync the children were with each other and also how quickly they picked up the expression that I was used when I read the different sentences first! We will definitely be doing this again! I think we all enjoyed it that much! 😁👍📚

Todays HoWL average is: 2.9

A slight dip from yesterday but nothing too drastic! I think the dip is down to some children doing a little bit too much chatting in some lessons and not being wholly focused on their learning. After a quick chat in crew I am confident that we can sort this tomorrow!

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow we need to make sure that all crew members are focused on their learning and that we do a little less chatting during lesson times!

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Bobby-Joe! Bobby-Joe is a quiet member of our crew but today he really stood out to the teaching staff in Crew Elmer. Bobby-Joe completed all of the work that was expected of him and participated well in every lesson. I am sure it won’t surprise you but Bobby-Joe was also one of the few who weren’t chatting in lesson times! He is a great role model to the rest of the crew because he always has his head down and is focused entirely on his learning and how he can ‘get smart’. Well done Bobby-Joe a great day for you as always! 🙌😁⭐👏

Crew Gerrard (3/3/21)

Wonderful Wednesday! We have had a really good day in Crew Gerrard, where we have looked into our reading skills more. This is an area that we are all keen to work on and get better at, which I’m sure that we will. There have been so many potential HoWL Heroes today and we decided they are:

Work Hard: Brayden for showing great enthusiasm in his maths work 😁

Get Smart: Lucas for showing a tremendous attitude to all lessons 😃

Be Kind: Ellie May who is always kind to others in her Crew 😄

Our HoWL average for today was 3.1, which is an improvement on yesterday! Well done Crew Gerrard 😆

Crew Thiede and Nicholson

Today we have carried on our adventures in stories! We continued to look at our book linking to expedition, ‘Bringing Down the Moon’. We all enjoyed sharing the book as a Crew with Miss Nicholson and joined in with her; the moon is ‘not as near as it looks’!

Then we got to share the book independently with Miss Thiede. We talked about the different characters, their actions and ordered the pictures from the story. We had lots to share and showed we were working hard by focusing on the story.

Today our HOWL score was 2.6

Our HOWL hero today is Charlotte! She worked so hard in our story sharing and was even able to tell adults about the beginning, middle and end of the story through pictures!
