Crew Shields – 10/3/21

Crew Shields have enjoyed learning the new skills required to play hockey. They have been dribbling, passing and shooting at the goals. Coach Shelly commented on how happy the children while they were practicing these news skills and they are looking forward to a hockey match, next week. We have also been working hard on our resilience as we learned more about carrying when multiplying 2 digit numbers especially as we had to apply the skills we practiced yesterday. Well done everyone!

Crew Shields Average : 3.0

Targets for this week : 3.2

How can we improve?

To further improve, Crew Shields need to ensure that they have a consistently positive attitude to learning to allow them to be successful in all learning.

Crew Shields Get Smart Howl Hero – Loghan
Loghan has made more of an effort today to stay in his seat which hass allowed him to focus on his learning. In Writing, he came up with some lovely ideas to write in his narrative. Well done Loghan.

Crew Boswell – 09/03/21

It’s been a strong day for crew today with some well-thought praises, wonders and even apologies at the end of the day.  It’s great to see everyone catching others doing things well and even better that, where needed, we can accept that some things haven’t gone as right as they could for ourselves.  It’s no surprise that our highlight today was PE and the chance to blow some of the cobwebs away in the car wash!  Ask our crew to find out more…

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.8

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.1

I wonder if…

I wonder if anyone wants their work on our beautiful work or beautiful handwriting display.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Work Hard HoWL Hero today is Lucas!

A great day for Lucas!  I’ve said before that it isn’t always easy asking for help, but not only has he been prepared to do that all day, but he’s flown with the work afterwards!  This shows real focus and that important positive attitude, well done, Lucas.  More of the same tomorrow?

Crew Longley – 09.03.2021

Another busy day. Today we have been getting smarter in reading, identifying features of a narrative, starting to multiply 2 digits by 1 digit using a formal method and looking at the structure of a tooth.

Our HoWLs today were: 2.7

This week our HoWl target was: 2.9

Our HoWL hero today was Alkim. Alkim has really got smarter in phonics. He even applied that to his spelling work and really showed off about his special friends knowledge. Well done!

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 09.03.21

Wow! What an action packed day it has been in Crew Elmer today! It was all go from the moment the children stepped into the classroom this morning! Arithmetic, reading, maths, writing, PE, fix it time, the list goes on! We have definitely done lots of learning today!

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today ‘s star moment has got to be PE! Despite not being in the lesson, I was blown away by how ‘buzzing’ the children were when they came back into the classroom! They couldn’t stop telling me how kind some of the members of our crew had been, how everyone had participated really well, and how they had worked collaboratively to complete a range of games. It sounded like it was a really successful PE lesson! Well done Crew Elmer! 😁👍

Todays HoWL average is: 3.1

Another good score above our target (just!)! Today, we had a few absences again and also some children who didn’t follow their HoWLs as best as they could at times which caused some of our scores to be a little lower.

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow, we need to make sure that all crew members in school try their best to get at least 3’s in their HoWLs tomorrow! Let’s work as a crew and get everyone there!

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Rowen! Rowen was praised and nominated by his crew members today for working hard all day and trying his best in every lesson. Several crew members also praised the fact that he took part in PE today which is sometimes a lesson that he does not enjoy, but today he did! An amazing day for you today Rowen! 🙌😁⭐👏 I wonder if you can be like this every day!?

Crew Thiede 9.3.21

We started our day with some exploring in the outdoor area. The children noticed all the leaves that have fallen on the ground and we wondering what we could do with them, they then saw a mysterious bin and began putting them in there! We talked about what compost is made of and what it is. We then met the smallest members of our environment! The children were brave and very careful while they got close to the bugs and insects.

This afternoon we got imaginative! We drew outlines around other crew members and made watches just like the ones that our Crew leaders have! We really enjoyed looking a the time, it made us feel very grown up!

Today our HOWL score was 2.8!

Our HOWL hero was Messiah! He has been such a hard worker today, especially in Phonics! What an amazing way to Get Smart! Well done!

Crew Shields – 9/3/21

Crew Shields have had a rather busy day with Writing and Maths. We enjoyed a practical maths session to help us understand the concept of mulitplying a 2 digit number by a 1 digit number. To make it even trickier they had to use the skills we learned for addition, however, I didn’t need to worry as we supported each other through the questions. This demonstrated some great crew work.

Crew Shields Average : 3.2

Targets for this week : 3.2

How can we improve?

To further improve, Crew Shields need to continue working on their presentation to ensure they are producing beautiful work.

Crew Shields Get Smart Howl Hero – Jack
Since September, Jack has been working hard to improve his handwriting and make his letter formation smaller. I know that he has also been working on this at home and his hard work has most certainly paid off. His handwriting is beautiful and he should be extremely proud of the progress he has made so far this year.

Crew Mcloughlin blog 9.3.21

Well today was out of this world! We thoroughly enjoyed dressing up today (maybe me more than the children) for our zoom with space expert Dave Eagle. We had lots of our inquisitive questions answered about all things space and hopefully encouraged the children to aspire to be whatever they would like to be, even if you have to work really hard to achieve it.⭐🚀👩‍🚀👨‍🚀

Crew Gerrard (9/3/21)

What a strange day we have had! We’ve been trying our best to get back in to the routine of school. We have been working on how to find equivalent fractions and order them in terms of size. We’ve also began our experience day for our next piece of writing. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly speaking to space expert, Dave Eagle. He really blew our minds with his out of this world knowledge. Our HoWL Heroes today were:

Work Hard: Emily for fantastic enthusiasm during the call with Mr Eagle 😁

Get Smart: Chloe for great dedication and explanations when ordering and comparing fractions 😃

Be Kind: Lucas for helping out with jobs throughout the day – you’ve been a massive help 😄

Our HoWL average today was 3.1 today – I wonder, can we react quicker to instructions? 😆
