We survived!! It has been so lovely to have our Crew all back in school and to see your smiley faces! We are more determined than ever to follow and excel in our HoWLs and be the best Crew we can be!

We have had a wonderful first day back with our full crew after lockdown 3.0! We are so glad everyone has re-joined us in school and we have worked so hard today on all of our learning! We even got a special certificate and reward for all of our hard work over the last lockdown!

Highlight of the Day:
Our highlight of the day was our writing lesson! There was an accident with Supertato in the classroom and we had to work out who we could ask to help us! We then practiced our medical skills on each other with bandages and discussed the actions that we were doing!
Howl Heroes:
Work Hard: This goes to Perrie for coming back after months of online learning and getting straight back in to her work – she was the first one to finish in every single lesson today, welcome back Perrie!
Get Smart: This goes to April today for consistently displaying green standard across all of our lessons today – keep it up April!
Be Kind: This goes to Debbie-Mae for sharing resources and waiting her turn to speak, well done Debbie-Mae and welcome back!
Howl Average:
3.2 – We have started the week off strongly, a few reminders given for listening ears but those children know they need to work on this, lets aim for 4.0 for the end of the week!
Star moment
Star moment today was seeing the children this afternoon learning about teeth, it was great to see the children learn the different types and what they are used for. I wonder if you can remember how many teeth children have?
Average is: 2.8 – not a great start to the week, hoping we get it up to 3 tomorrow.
Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0
How can we develop this tomorrow?
Crew Marsh’s target is to make sure they are concentrating on their learning and not as much talking, today this seems to have been all day and I have had to constantly remind children about what working hard and getting smart looks like.
Howl hero:
Work hard hero today is Mia!
Mia has worked so hard today, she has completed her math work independently and worked really hard in her reading sessions through out the day. Well done Mia!
Marvellous Monday! We have had a lovely day today doing lots of busy jobs!
We have loved our fine motor tuff tray today! We learnt and developed our cutting, snipping and following skills. We talked about colours and really liked the shiny silver paper! ✂️

Then we did our write dance with Mrs Mason. The children remembered so much of the story and did some amazing dance moves.

At the end of the day we had a real treat! To celebrate the end of Lockdown 3 we got a beautiful certificate and a yummy chocolate bar for all our hard work!
Thank you to all the adults who helped the children through these tricky few months. Hopefully the children are feeling kind and share some some their chocolate. Fingers crossed! 🍫

Monday ✅
What a wonderful first full day back we have had. It has been brilliant having the whole crew back in the classroom and great to see so many smiling faces. Unfortunately, Teddy had an accident while he was playing with the other toys! We had to work as doctors and nurses to bandage his arm up, and we are going to write to Zog and the Flying Doctors to come and fix it properly. 🌟
HOWL Heroes:
Work hard: Tiarna👏
Get smart: Elijah👏
Be kind: Scarlett👏
HOWL Score: 3.4 What a fantastic score!! 🌟🌟
Today, we could’ve given everyone HOWL hero… but the lucky 3 were:
Work hard: Roxanne – for a fantastic performance in P.E.
Get smart: Lexie – for improved performance in P.E.
Be kind: Maxi – for supporting his peers.
🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 3.5! We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.
We have done some amazing learning this week! Watch to see how we have been working hard, getting smart and being kind!
What a day. We have worked our socks off to work hard, get smart and produce beautiful work today!
Things we have been creating and learning today:
Our HoWLs today were: 2.8
This week our HoWl target was: 2.9
Our HoWL hero today was Kaitlynn. Kaitlynn has worked hard to develop her cursive writing and it is certainly starting to show in her English work. Well done!
Tantalizing Thursday! ⭐
Today has been an interesting day in Crew Elmer! We have had a busy end to the week but have achieved so much!
Star moment of the day: ⭐
Today’s star moment has got to be our Maths lesson this morning. Yesterday we struggled with comparing and calculating the area of a range of different rectilinear shapes. However, today looking at it with fresh eyes and learning about it through a different approach we all smashed it! All crew members can now confidently explain what area is, how to calculate it and how to compare areas as well as drawing shapes that have the same, less than and more than the same area. Great effort Crew Elmer! 😁👍
Todays HoWL average is: 3.1
An improvement from yesterday and a great score to end the week off! Well done Crew Elmer!
This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0
How can we develop this next week?
Next week, we need to make sure that we are kind to all of our crew members especially to those returning back into the classroom. We also need to make sure that we are following our HoWLs at all times.
Today’s HoWL Hero:
Today’s HoWL Heroes were Bobby-Joe and Maddie! These two joined crew Elmer unexpectedly at the start of lockdown but instantly settled into Crew Elmer. They have been an absolute pleasure to teach and have really contributed well to our Crew! They are both incredibly hard working and have been great role models. Amazing work you too! 🙌😁⭐👏 You will both be greatly missed but we are sure you will slot straight back into Crew Boswell and be very happy! 😁
The children have worked hard to complete their writing and expedition learning in preparation for the return of everyone next week. I have loved reading the children’s writing especially as they are trying hard to be more independent. We are really looking forward to having all of Crew Shields back together.
Crew Shields Average : 2.6
Targets for this week : 3.0
How can we improve?
To further improve, Crew Shields need to ensure they are producing beautiful work by focusing on their presentation.
Crew Shields Get Smart Howl Hero – Holly
Holly has been working extremely hard in RWI to retain her speed sounds and how to read them within words. Also within writing, she has been building her independence and really considering how to use her RWI when spelling/writing.
