Crew Thiede 13.4.21

Another busy and happy day in Crew, such a positive start to Summer term.

We spent most of our day outside today enjoying the fresh air. We used lots of equipment and our imaginations to build dens! It was so much fun and we found lots of things to do in them like using pots and pans to make music!

Today’s HOWL hero was Lucas! He has been such a good example of getting smart today by using amazing listening skills showing green standard during group sessions.

Crew Longley – 13.04.2021

Another busy day in Crew Longley. We started by thinking about kindness and how we can pay compliments to people and share positivity. Then we started thinking about fractions and halving, writing character descriptions and reviewing our slightly disgusting egg experiment.

Our Howl Average today was 3.1

Our Weekly Howl Target is 3.0

We need 8 more ‘3’s’ to earn our Nelli day! 🐶🐶

Today’s Howl hero was Kayden. He has worked hard to complete his work and shown kindness, even when he was feeling a little frustrated. Kayden also kindly shared the 5 Red Ninja trick to help breathe and self-regulate. Something we have tried to do today.

Crew Shields – 13/4/21

Crew Shields have blown me away today with some of their writing based around the Tinman from the Wizard of Oz. When I think back to their writing in September, I can’t believe how much they have come on. Children were using inverted commas independently today and this shows they are retaining their previous learning. This makes me and Mrs Lowe very happy. They should be very proud of themselves! Well done Crew Shields!

Crew Shields Average : 3.0

Targets for this week : 3.2

How can we improve?

To further improve, Crew Shields need to ensure that they always demonstrating active listening so they know what they need to do.

Crew Shields Get Smart Howl Hero – Chloe
Chloe showed some fantastic understanding in Maths and Writing today. She uses some fantastic vocabulary and her writing is a pleasure to read.

Crew Shields Get Smart Howl Hero – RiRi
RiRi has been working really hard in her writing since September through proofreading and ensuring she uses accurate vocabulary. It has been a real pleasure reading her writing the last few months and I’m very excited for the rest of the writing she produces in Year 3!

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 13.04.21

Today has been another great day in Crew Elmer!

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today’s ‘star moment’ has to be our ‘Write Stuff’ lesson. I was blown away with the character descriptions that children had written about Dorothy in connection with our short unit on ‘The Wizard of Oz’. The children were able to use a range of expanded noun phrases, similes and WOW adjectives! Great work Crew Elmer! Well done! 👏📝✏

Todays HoWL average is: 2.8

Another good HoWL score but a slight dip from yesterday due to 2 crew members being absent today. Hopefully we can continue to work super hard tomorrow and get this HoWL score up to at least at 3.0! 🤞

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

We need to make sure that all crew members are at school tomorrow and that we remember to try our best at working hard, getting smart and being kind.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Esme! Esme was praised by several of her crew members as well as Miss Hart and I for her exceptional hard work in all lessons today especially ‘The Write Stuff’. Esme was also praised for being kind and helpful at crew break times. An amazing day Esme! Well done! 🙌🤩👏👍

Crew Wilson Daily Blog – 13.4.2021

Highlight of the day:

Another fantastic expedition session where we have continued to construct our final product – a replica of Lincoln Castle! Following our critiques yesterday, we have made great strides in redesigning and remaking our castle, and we are very nearly ready to join it together and start painting! We had some fantastic collaboration and some brilliant demonstration of our DT skills that we learned before half term, great work Crew Wilson!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: This goes to Aleks today for working hard across all of our lessons today. Aleks has had an input to lots of discussions and it is great seeing his confidence in speaking in front of the crew grow every day, well done!

Get Smart: This goes to Eva today for using her howl score from yesterday to improve her attitude towards learning today. Fantastic to see her being reflective and making strides to improve herself, great work Eva!

Be Kind: This goes to April and Luke for being brilliant collaborators in expedition, working hard together and supporting each other when they found things tricky!

Howl Average:

3.3 – Staying steady, lots of reflection today to work on getting those fab fours tomorrow!

Crew Gerrard (13/4/21)

Another superb day in Crew Gerrard! We were really on fire with our reading this morning. That was swiftly followed by reading and before we knew it, we were out for break. Then we continued our experience day and I was really pleased with the discussion and involvement during this, as well as in our maths lessons. It was great to be a part of such a hard working Crew. We then continued our persuasive letter this afternoon and have made a solid start. Our HoWL Heroes today are:

Work Hard: Alicia for really motoring away on with her work. What a great day you’ve had! 😁

Get Smart: Emily for sharing superb knowledge during the hot seating in writing, which definitely helped your peers – fantastic stuff! 😃

Be Kind: Lucas, who could have won any today, for being such a positive influence on your Crew! 😄

Our HoWL average was 3.1 today, which is above our target!

I wonder if we can ensure that we are working as hard in the afternoon, as we do in the morning? 😆

Crew Marsh: 13/4/21

Star moment

Star moment today was seeing how confident the crew was in arithmetic, it was great to see all of them answering the range of questions at ease and not need much adult support. This is a massive change from the start of the year… you should all feel so proud of yourselves!! 👏👏

Average is: 3.0!

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh’s target for tomorrow again is to make sure that they are listening to every instruction and following it. We are really trying to make sure that everyone in Crew Marsh can follow an instruction to a T.

Howl Hero:

Our Get Smart Hero today is Jake!

Jake has amazed me in writing today, he has really blown me away! He has worked so hard and come up with some amazing, imaginative ideas. Well done Jake, I am so impressed. Keep it up! 😊

Crew Thiede 12.4.21

It was so lovely to have our crew back together today!

We started off our new term with team building in PE. Miss Tabone shared that the children worked as a great team! They helped each other to complete the tasks and cheered each other on to show their support!

We listened to the story of the Wizard of Oz. In our creative area we were busy using shapes to make a house for Dorothy to live in after hers blew away!

Today’s HOWL hero is Sophia! She has had such a kind day, helping her friends and looking after her environment.
