Crew Boswell – 12.10.20

Another busy day down the pit for us today as the children were able to experience a little more of what it could have been like working down a mine and having to navigate small spaces while working as a crew.

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.7

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 2.8

I wonder if…

I wonder if we can listen carefully to instructions, especially with our writing, to help us to get smart.

Today’s HoWL Heroes:

Our Be Kind hero today is Lucas!

Lucas has had a great attitude to his learning today and has been positive about everything, even the challenges!  He’s even spread this positivity to the rest of the crew and kept us all smiling today.

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 12/10/2020

We have had a marvellous Monday and great first day back in Crew Wilson🤩

Highlight of the day:

Today Mr Wilson has had a break from teaching as the Crew have led in our Computing session this afternoon, assisting each other to de-bug an algorithm using prior knowledge and their new skills gained from the last 6 weeks. They have worked fantastically together as collaborators, helping each other fix issues and have had some in-depth discussions about the problems they encountered and how to overcome them, it was great to sit back and watch how they work together, well done Crew!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: Debbie-Mae has shown she is consistently aiming for green standard in every lesson today, well done!

Get Smart: Bobby-J has listened carefully to instructions and has provided some brilliant answers to questions in discussion times, great work!

Be Kind: Keira-Leigh has been kind to her Crew today by helping others sound out words when they got stuck with reading directions in computing, and has been a cheerleader for everyone’s achievements  today, well done!

Howl Average:

3.3

This has dropped by 0.1% but the Crew have some whole class and personal targets for tomorrow so they can demonstrate their Howl’s to the teachers and to get those fab fours.

Crew Shields – 12/10/20

Crew Shields have had a great day. We were fortunate enough today to have a workshop based on Parliament. The children were given information about the House of Commons and House of Lords. They even had an opportunity to discuss the things they would like to change if they were in charge.

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.9

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

To improve further, Crew Shields need to become more resilient when completing their learning.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Be Kind hero today is Georgie!

Georgie has demonstrated some great examples of being kind today. She supports her peers when learning and even helped a child to tie their laces. That is definitely how we show being part of a crew.

Crew Marsh: 12/10/20

I have loved watching the children experience what working in a mine would be like, we went into the hall and acted out mining: going down the shaft, getters (getting coal), stoppers (holding the doors), thrusters (getting the coal to where it need to be).

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.6

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.2

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow, Crew Marsh need to make sure they are listening to every instruction.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Get Smart hero today is Mia!

Mia has shown that she has been getting smart by showing me that she has been listening all day. Well done Mia!

Crew Longley have been learning about the UK Parliament and the Lords today. They even got to see where Boris Johnson would be standing later in the day.

Daily Blog 9.10.20

A fabulous Friday in Crew Flaherty today.

Highlights of the day:

It was lovely to see all the children supporting World Mental Health by donating and/or wearing yellow. The children have enjoyed sharing the things, places and people that make them feel happy.

Learning Legend

Our learning legend this week was Thomas  for striving to succeed in every lesson. Thomas has a positive attitude to his learning and applies his new knowledge and skills to his work. We couldn’t ask for anymore. You are a role model to others in your Crew. Well done Thomas, keep up the good work!

Handwriting Golden Ticket

Maria enjoyed her shake and cake this morning for improving her handwriting over the last couple of weeks. Well done Maria!

HOWLs

Our HOWL average for the day was 3.1. A great score today, well done Crew

Our weekly Crew average was 3.1. Unfortunately a little lower than last week. Let’s improve our listening skills next week and I’m sure our Crew average will increase.
