HOWL heroes

Work Hard

Hollie for creating a wonderful tile in our expedition learning.

Get Smart

Daisy for listening carefully especially in our morning lessons.

Be Kind

Honey for being a kind friend to her Crew and checking that everyone is ok on the playground.

I wonder who will be our HOWL heroes tomorrow

Crew Shields – 21/10/20

Today, the children have enjoyed writing. It is becoming a subject that they are enjoying and I have definitely seen progress since we started in September. I look forward to seeing the continued progress next half term.

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.8

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

To improve further, Crew Shields need to ensure they are listening carefully to the instructions so they know what they are doing.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Get Smart hero today is Ava!

Ava has done some amazing listening today and she showed some good understanding in Maths when we were exchanging 10 in subtraction. She also worked on her writing independently and tried her best.

Crew Mcloughlin Blog 20.10.20

Sorry for late post! We have worked super hard in Crew Mcloughlin today, although our HoWL average does not reflect this due to low attendance.

Children have had the opportunity this afternoon to each chose a book from the school library to read for pleasure at home. This has been logged in reading logs that each child has got, I will sign this when your child brings back the book they have read then they can choose a new one. Hopefully this will encourage all the children to read which will really enhance their writing and reading skills. I have asked the children to write down effective sentences from their books to put on our inspiration station for us to magpie in our writing.

Have a lovely evening,

Miss Mcloughlin

Crew Flaherty Daily Blog 20.10.20

A terrific Tuesday in Crew Flaherty today.

Highlight of the day:

Everyone listened carefully to coach Cara in Kixx this morning. It was lovely to see how carefully the children followed their instructions as well.

HOWLs

Our Crew average for the day is a little lower than normal today due to attendance. It was 2.4. I wonder if we can improve this tomorrow Crew Flaherty by following improving our presentation in our books

HOWL heroes

Work Hard

Brodie for making fabulous progress in RWI.

Get Smart

Kelsey for listening carefully to instructions

Be Kind

Billy for making sure everyone could join in with the games at breaktime

I wonder who our HOWL heroes will be tomorrow.

Crew Boswell – 20.10.20

Our highlight of the day was our writing session.  Some great ideas and ever-improving handwriting gives us plenty to be excited about for the rest of the year.  I can’t wait!

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.9

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 2.9

I wonder if…

I wonder if we can make sure that our conversations are as focused and productive as they can be.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Be Kind hero today is Tyler!

Another great day for Tyler.  A clear choice from the crew as our HoWL hero.  We have chosen Be Kind because of his continuing support of others and the consideration that he has for everyone in the crew.  What a great example!

Crew Nicholson Daily Blog 20.10.20

Terrific Tuesday ✅ Today we have explored Autumn 🍂 The children had noticed there was lots of leaves on the ground so we discussed why. The children talked about differences in the leaves on the ground and the leaves still on the trees. We then went outside to collect some leaves that we are going to do some printing with 🍁🍂 Watch this space…. 🎨

We continued the Autumn/Halloween theme and started to paint our pumpkin pictures. We talked about the colour orange and how we mix the colour. The children did great at doing this independently, mixing different shades of orange and exploring what happens when we add more white or red. I can’t wait to see the finished products! 🎃

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 20.10.20

Are we sure it’s only Tuesday?! We have had a very busy but tiring day in Crew Elmer today and we sure are ready for half term!

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Two spring to mind today! One being how kind Crew Elmer were towards our trainee teacher Miss Clarke today as it was her birthday! 🎈 The children sang, made her a card and said sent lots of well wishes her way. I really think we made her birthday is school a good one and one to remember! Well done Crew Elmer! 👏

The other ‘Star moment of the day’ was PE this afternoon. The children were challenged to run for 4 minutes without stopping and I was really impressed with the stamina of some children. When they first did this in September lots of children gave up too easily and did not have much resilience…but today I was blown away with how much progress the children had made in a short space of time and were able to run the 4 minutes easy! Rowen, Lacey-Niia and Hannah you are just a few of the ones that stood out to me. I was particularly impressed with how you kept up with me, even when I challenged you to sprint the final minute Hannah!

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.3

WOW! 🤩 We are on a roll this week Crew Elmer! Keep this up to the end of the week please! 🤞

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow Crew Elmer need to make sure that they continue to work hard, get smart and be kind at all times! If we can repeat today that would be fab! 🙌

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today Crew Elmer had LOADS of praises that they wanted to give to each other starting from first thing this morning which was great to see! Crew Elmer jointly nominated Kacey-Leigh for ‘working hard’ ALL day! I also recognised this! The quantity and quality of work that she produced in our core subjects today as well as Expedition and PE blew lots of us away! Excellent work Kacey-Leigh! Well done! 😁👍🙌

Crew Fox blog 20.10.20

We’ve had lots of great, independent learning happening today! Even though we’re all super tired, we’re powering through!

Work Hard: Chloe

Get Smart: Ebony

Be Kind: Issac

HOWL average today was… 2.7

Crew Godley Daily Blog 20.10.20

Team work has been the motto of today! We have shown we are ‘Crew’ in so many ways ☺️

It was great to observe our children working independently as a crew to play outdoor games. Normally the games we play need a lot of adult interaction, today the children amazed me by working collaboratively with very little support 🤩 The children were able to solve their own problems and work our solutions. It made me so proud that they were able to do this at such a young age.

We continued to work on our expedition today and there was some fantastic role play taking place! See if you can guess what they children were pretending to be 🚗

Crew Marsh 20/10/20

Today as a crew we loved eating jam sandwiches in our writing lesson. Eating the sandwich meant that we could really describe how the miners would have found eating their sandwich after a long shift down the pit.

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.3! 👍

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.2

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow, Crew Marsh need to chat less about thing that wont help with the task, save these chats for break time.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Get Smart hero today is Sophia!

The Crew recognised that Sophia has been working really hard all day and that Sophia always works hard and therefore this will make sure that she will get smart. Well done Sophia, Crew Marsh is proud of you!
