Crew Foundation Daily Blog 23.10.20

What a happy Halloween 👻 we’ve had today in Foundation! It was fantastic to see all the children in their outfits, they had a Spooktacular time! We had lots of singing, dancing and Halloween crafts.

I’m sure the community of Carcroft thought they were seeing things when we carried out our daily mile in a spooky fashion!

It was also a sad day as we said goodbye to Alfie, Alfie is embarking on a new adventure at his new school, they are so lucky to have you Alfie. We also celebrated his birthday today, such a lovely last day for us to share together.

Good bye to Alfie!

Have a fantastic half term everyone!

Crew Marsh: 23/10/20

We have had a spooky Friday! I have loved seeing all of the children in their Halloween gear!

Crew Marsh’s star moment is the effort all of the children put into their Halloween pumpkins, they look amazing and I a sure the children are going to enjoy looking for them out in the community in house windows.

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.5!!

How can we develop this tomorrow?

After half term, children in Crew Marsh need to make sure they are always being kind to each other and not saying nasty comments.

Aaron has worked really hard all day to make sure he is getting smart. He has remained in his seat in order to be safe and hasn’t been fussy. Well done Aaron!

Crew Shields – 23/10/20

This week in Crew Shields has been quite different due to me teaching remotely. However, the children adapted quickly and they have had a successful week. The children have really been enjoying writing and whenever I ask the highlight of their day, it is always writing. This is huge progress from September when I received a groan if writing was mentioned. They have really come together as a crew and this shows when they support each other with their learning and nothing is every too much trouble. I am extremely proud of everything they have achieved this half term. Have a great half term and stay safe.

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.1

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Next half term, Crew Shields will be focusing on strategies to get smart now that we know how to work hard.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Get Smart hero today is: Kaylum

Kaylum has demonstrated some fantastic listening skills today which meant he was able to produce a fantastic piece of Halloween art.

Learning Legend: Jack

Jack has been working so hard since we returned in September and he has really settled into school life. He is continually trying to develop on the previous days learning which is lovely to see. Jack is building up his confidence and this is really showing, especially in writing. I am very proud of Jack and I look forward to see him continuing to shine as we move through Year 3.

Handwriting Hero:

Our handwriting hero’s for this week are Maddie and Georgie.

Expedition hook day: 4/11/20

Crew Elmer Daily Post 22.10.20

Happy Thursday! 😁 One step closer to the weekend and half term! 🙌

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today I have been blown away by the pride and care that the children demonstrated when they were writing up their diary entries in neat ready for our ‘Expedition’ display. I feel like all children achieved a ‘4’ for ‘getting smart’ as all children produced some beautiful work that they should be very proud of! Well done Crew Elmer! 👏 I can’t wait to see this fantastic work 📝✏ on our ‘Expedition’ display! Watch this space! 📸

Todays HoWL average is: 3.3

WOW! Another fab day in Crew Elmer! It has also really helped having 15/16 children in today to avoid us getting lots of ‘1’s’. Well done for pulling together and working as a crew today to support each other in getting 3’s and 4’s across the board. This has certainly been a great week for HoWLs! Well done Crew Elmer! 🙌

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow Crew Elmer need to make sure that they have a fab day despite it being off timetable and us all being in silly costumes! 🎃

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Would you believe it but today we had soooo many praises that we had to hold a vote! There were sooo many nominations for ‘kindness’ which was lovely to hear as this has been something that we have been working on as a crew. However, as a crew we voted for Laila as she has been supporting her crew members in class as well as making sure everyone was included in crew playtimes 💕 Well done Laila! 👍🤩👏🙌❤

Crew Boswell – 22.10.20

A definite star moment was the perseverance that everyone showed during our lesson on Roman numerals.  They are tricky, but we all worked together to gain a little more understanding about how they were used, well done all of you!

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.9

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 2.9

I wonder if…

I wonder if we remember our Hallowe’en outfits tomorrow and if we can each complete one random act of kindness to someone else in our crew.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Get Smart hero today is Lexi!

It’s been a great day for Lexi today.  She has been focused and concentrated on her expected standard to ensure that she has produced some beautiful work.  Well done for not giving up on Roman numerals too when you found them tricky at first!

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 22/10/2020

We have had a thrilling Thursday in Crew Wilson today!

Highlight of the day:

We have finally fully constructed our box model village of Carcroft and it looked immense! The discussions around what, why and how we had built our models was great, the children have clearly taken their learning on board this term and could talk about their work fantastically, our school leaders were blown away by what we had created! We really enjoyed taking a walk down our model street and spotting all of the human and physical features that we had constructed, well done Crew!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: This Howl goes to Aleks today for his fantastic work in maths, he can explain his thinking clearly and made me so proud when he guided his crew to the right answers rather than just telling them, well done Aleks!

Get Smart: This Howl goes to Dalton for being a superstar throughout the day, he’s been my Green Standard role model today, demonstrating to the class exactly what we expect, well done Dalton!

Be Kind: This Howl goes to Tia today, as she always hangs back to ensure our classroom is spotless. Tia is a great helper and Crew Wilson would be lost without her, well done!

Howl Average:

We have ended the day on a respectable 3.4 Howl average, lots of great learning, listening and collaboration taking place today, well done Crew Wilson!

One more day till half term, we cant wait to celebrate our successes tomorrow and let our hair down for Halloween!!
