Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 24/11/2020

We have had a terrific Tuesday in Crew Wilson!

Highlight of the day:

Today in computing we continued with our work of ‘TV Chef’s’ and wrote some simple instructions for making a jam sandwich. We learned that we had to be very specific about what we needed to do as things quickly went wrong when the instructions were jumbled up!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: We’ve got a double-whammy for this Howl today as Miami and Finlay collaborated so well when writing their instructions. Finlay was very patient and Miami had great listening skills when trying to sound out the words, well done!

Get Smart: This Howl goes to Stevie today for her fantastic sentence in our Write Stuff lesson. Stevie read her work back and realised it didn’t make sense, so she fixed it independently, great work!

Be Kind: Our Be Kind Howl goes to Dalton for his fantastic input to all of his lessons today, and keeping everyone in check in the cloakroom – well done!

Howl Average:

3.5

We are slowly creeping up to 4, we are working on our noise levels in the classroom to show green standard learning all the time!

Crew Kent Blog 24.11.20

Today, we could’ve given anyone HOWL hero… but the lucky 3 were:

Work hard: Lexi 👩

Get smart: Maxi 🧑

Be kind: Deacon and Kelby

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 3.2! We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 24.11.20

Tricky Tuesday! Today there has been some miscommunication and WIFI issues that have meant things have been a bit ‘tricky’ at home and at school today! However, being the Crew that we are, we have survived! 😁💪

Star moment of the day:

Today’s ‘Star moment of the day’, has to be hearing about the fabulous work that the children have been doing as part of their PE session today. The children have been experiencing different elements of dance over the past few weeks during their PE lessons and last week voted on what type of dance they wanted to focus on for the next 3 weeks. The class voted on ‘cheerleading’ and today they got to experience their first cheer leading lesson! 🙌 G-O GO CREW ELMER!! I can’t wait to see the photos and to take part in a lesson with my crew next week! 💃🕺🙌

Todays HoWL average is: 2.7

Another little dip today but I know this is down to a few crew members letting themselves down today but I am confident that this score will be back up tomorrow! 🤞 👍 Can I also just praise Crew Elmer for being really honest with their self reflections and HoWL scores today. Well done for being so honest Crew Elmer! 🙌

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.4

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow Crew Elmer need to make sure that they are being kind at all times of the day and that they are working as hard as they can allowing them to achieve Gold Standard and produce beautiful work.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today Miss Clarke chose our HoWL hero and again it was one that I strongly agreed with! 🤩 Sienna was chosen for ‘working hard’ all day today! I recognised this during our Hooked on Books session as Sienna was putting her hand up lots, was great at retrieving quotes from the text and was able to use both the sentence starters and bonus words in her answers. Miss Clarke also added that Sienna worked hard in dance today and demonstrated some great moves! 💃 Excellent work Sienna! Well done! 🙌👏

Golden Ticket Winner for Handwriting: ✏📝

This went to Ryleigh for most improved handwriting this week! Ryleigh has been working really hard on her handwriting, making sure that her letters are correctly joined and that her letters are the correct size. Beautiful work Ryleigh! Well done! 👏👍👍🙌✏📝

Crew Marsh: 24/11/20

My star moment today has been watching the children learn their dance in PE. The children loved it! I cannot wait to see the final product/dance! 👍😊

Average is: 2.9 – we are getting higher! 👏

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.3!

How can we develop this tomorrow?

We have had a fussy day again today, so I think our target for the week is for Crew Marsh to listen and follow every little instruction given. 👍

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Be Smart hero today is Jake!✨🙌

Jake has tried really hard today to make sure he is always listening and following instructions, well done Jake! It is great to see that you have taken on board and acted on Crew feedback straight away!

Crew Shields – 24/11/20

In expedition today, we have been learning about Sikhs and the Langar. The Langar is the sharing of food with others. The Sikhs believe that everyone should be equal and therefore treated the same. They prepare a vegetarian meal to ensure everyone can eat it and this is ate while sat on the floor. They do this to show the love of God and to be closer to him.

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.0

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

To improve further, Crew Shields need to ensure that we are listening carefully so we know what we are doing.

Our Be kKind hero today is Maddie!

Maddie was nominated by her peers because they had recognised for working hard and being kind to others. Maddie always supports her peers and today she helped another child out when they had forgotten how to carry and exchange. Well done Maddie.

Crew Longley – 23.11.2020

A lovely start to the week. We have been looking at how to get smart in Maths by answering arithmetic style test questions, discussing differences in families.

We also continued to look at our expedition question of ‘What’s the most valuable gift you can give?’. We started to look at how Sikhs value a community spirit.

Today’s HoWL average 3

Our HoWL target is: 3

How can we develop  Continue to get smart. Think about how we can learn and remember number bonds to 10 and 20.

Howl Hero

Our Hero today was Layton. He has really worked hard today to develop his arithmetic skills and knowledge of sikhism.

Crew Boswell – 23.11.20

It’s been a very busy day for us today and one that has seemed to race by.  Some tricky learning has pushed most of us but everyone should be proud that they didn’t give up and persevered with the challenges.

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.2

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.3

I wonder if…

I wonder if we can start to pick up the pace a little more tomorrow and complete even more learning in each session.

Today’s HoWL Heroes:

Our Work Hard HoWL Hero today is Heidi!

What a great day it’s been for Heidi today.  She has impressed us with her focus on her learning and has set the rest of us a challenge with how quickly she has worked throughout the day.  Can anyone match her?

Crew Marsh: 23/11/20

My star moment today was seeing the children working in teams to unpick a letter sent from Santa, the children did really well piecing it together in order and using previous knowledge to know the features a letter has.

Average is: 2.8

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.3!

How can we develop this tomorrow?

We have had a fussy day again today, so I think our target for the week is for Crew Marsh to listen and follow every little instruction given. 👍

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Be Smart hero today is Aaliyah!💕👏

Aaliyah has worked really hard in our math lesson today, and when completing math in fix it time. Well done Aaliyah! You have definitely got smart today…. you are so much more confident now at column subtraction!

Crew Nicholson 23.11.20

We have had a great start to the week and we love starting our Mondays doing P.E with coach Shelley. We continued our dance lessons and today we moved like pieces of fruit! We stretched our bodies up like a banana we stretched sideways like an apple We curled up like a teeny blueberry and bunched up like a bunch of grapes The children did fantastic at remembering all the different actions! We danced to ‘10 fat sausages’, doing big jumps and also a great opportunity to practice our counting

When we came back to class, the children were ever so excited to find a letter from The Gruffalo, that he needs help to make some food and write some invitations for his tea party on Wednesday. We have been busy making some animal headbands practising our cutting skills so we can wear them on Wednesday! Watch this space…

The children have been learning through play in the home corner today, pretending to cook some eggs and pasta. I had lots of yummy cups of teas made for me and we even pretended to make hot chocolates with marshmallows and cream If only they were real The children played lovely, turn taking and having lovely conversations

Today we have been reflecting on what standard we are on and the children worked hard to think if they had needed any reminders throughout the day. We had some children on Green standard, some on Gold standard and some on orange, but discussed how we can improve this well done everyone.
