Crew Gerrard (30/11/20)

Hi everyone,

We’ve had a great start to the week, from what I have been told, as I have not been in this morning. This afternoon was so much fun watching the children start to decorate their classroom. The children have also enjoyed putting some dance moves together in PE. It was difficult to choose the HoWL heroes for today, and they are:

Working hard: Alicia 🦸‍♂️

Get smart: Emily 🦸‍♂️

Being kind: Ellie-May and Lucas 🦸‍♂️

Our HoWL average was 3.2!

Let’s carry this on tomorrow! 😆

Daily Blog Crew Godley 30.11.2020

Monday ✔🎄✨ What an exciting day we have had Christmassing up the classroom! The children have loved decorating the Christmas tree and all placed a bauble in the perfect spot. We have made symmetrical snowflakes and wrote letters to the elf to ensure we are ready for December 1st tomorrow! We can’t wait to begin all of the festivities we have planned 😊 We just hope the naughty elf behaves!

We began exploring our new text today ‘The Stickman’ which links perfectly to Christmas as Santa makes an appearance in the story. The children have retold the story beautifully using small world props and puppets.

Work hard: SJ – amazing work in writing today  👏

Get smart: Sydney – fantastic sound recognition 👏

Be kind: Shania – always helpful towards her peers 👏

Crew Longley – 27.11.2020

This week the children have been learning about Sikhism and Christianity as part of our expedition ‘What’s the most valuable gift you can give?’ We have continued developing our dance skills, with the children even teaching me some moves. I know the children have really loved this session each week and can’t wait to see the finished dance. In cojo this week, we worked on designing a village and then deciding who would form a coalition and who would invade. We definitely have a cut throat crew 😁

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.9

Our weekly HoWL average was: 3.0👍

Our Weekly HoWL target was: 3.0

How can we develop this next week?

Next week is assessment week. We really need to focus on the tips and methods taught and to read questions really carefully.

Today’s HoWL Heroes:

Our Be Smart heroes were Ruby and Chase!

Both children achieved full marks on their arithmetic work today. Well done!

Handwriting Hero:

Lacee-May was recognised for the improvement in her handwriting this term. She tries so hard to remember the formation. She certainly enjoyed the biggest piece of cake possible as her reward.

Home Learning:

This week 11/16 children have achieved the target of reading 4 times (with a signature) and completing the homework tasks. These children had their lucky dip treat today. Well done!

It would be fantastic if we could get to the point where we head every child receiving a lucky dip treat!

99 Club:

I would like to say well done to the following children, who have achieved the next level of the 99 club challenge:

22 Club – Keaton

33 Club – Esme .

Crew Boswell – 27.11.20

Bon soir,

It’s been a good day for us today.  A slightly different Friday than normal, we’ve enjoyed our reading and writing sessions and are starting to consider the wide choice of words authors use to describe things and what effect this has on us as the reader.

Today’s HoWL average is: 2.7

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.3

Our Weekly HoWL average is: 3.1

I wonder if…

I wonder if we can continue to develop our pace when writing.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Get Smart HoWL Hero today is Melisa!

What a great day for Melisa!  Some superb reading and even better work in maths made Melisa a clear choice for our HoWL Hero.  Keep it going, Melisa, well done!

Crew Godley Weekly Review 27.11.20

Week 4 ✅ What a busy week we’ve had, it’s flown by in the blink of an eye!

We’ve had a fantastic week exploring our text ‘The Gruffalo’s Child’ which is feeding into our final expedition piece. The children have been so confident and enthusiastic retelling the story we can’t wait to see the final production. Shania, SJ and Skyla have absolutely blown us away with their confidence when performing in front of the crew ☺️ SJ even shared some tips from his stage school  ⭐️

The children have created some fantastic ‘wanted’ posters which you may see dotted around the EYFS playground, we’re looking for the terribly big and terribly bad mouse! 🐁

Highlight of the week

This week’s highlight has to be our children who are completing homework. 📚 We can see how hard the children are working at home and this is reflected in their school work, they are becoming confident, independent little learners ⭐️  We really value the support of parents and would like to thank you for all your hard work at home.

HOWLs

Todays HOWL heroes were

🌟 Work hard – Roseanne worked hard in her writing activity labelling the characters from the story ‘The Gruffalo’s Child’

🌟 Get smart – Logan worked hard with his peers outside to create a giant map to show where the mouse was hiding. He supported his peers in counting how many steps they should add to create similar spaces in between the ‘x’s.

🌟 Be kind – Declan supported the F1 children at lunch time. He was so helpful giving out their lunches me drinks.

Crew Shields – 27/11/20

Crew Shields have been focusing on working hard and being kind. We have really tried to develop how artwork as a Crew and the ways we can support each other in learning. It has been lovely seeing the children starting to make links between their multiplication facts and division. This has been out focus in !args for the last few weeks and I can definitely see children getting smart. They should be very pleased with everything they have achieved this week. Well done everyone!

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.0

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0
