Well Crew Marsh and Crew Haddock had a love treat to the end of our first half term. We had smores and popcorn in the rain.
KS1 have worked so hard on their Harvest Festival, sharing their learning with whole school! This was such a brave thing to do, so early on in the academic year, we were very proud of the children. Their confidence shone through. A big thank you to Miss McGlone to helping us with our music skills, we were excited to showcase these on the day.
Thank you to Frankie who brought in her Brownie sash this week. She explained to us the badges she has achieved and what she had to do to receive them. She should be very proud of herself. 😊
Magic vs Miracles
We began our lesson today by making objects disappear, it was very exciting! this led us perfectly into our next guiding question exploring the miracles Jesus performed. We discovered that a miracle is an event that goes against nature, cannot be explained and Christians believe they are caused by God. to help us understand this we listened to a story in the Bible, Jesus feeding 5000 people with five loaves and two fish.
We then created our own fish and imagined trying to feed 5000 people with it. It seemed impossible!
In our writing lesson today, we have looked at different diary entries and discussed what features are included. We found that there are personal pronouns, time fronted adverbials, date, Dear Diary and it is written in past tense. We all worked incredibly hard to find these features in a Roman diary entry.
Last week, we hosted our first ever Trust Sport Tournament for three of our primary schools. Hosted at Club Doncaster near XP, the three schools competed in a series of games of tag Rugby – here are some of the exciting highlights!
Iain Boothroyd and Kazu Makita from the Yomiuri Shimbun, the most read daily newspaper in Japan came to XP to find out more about what we do! Alicia and Freya were awesome ambassadors for the school and gave our guests a tour of all the beautiful work created by our students. Mr Makita is writing an editorial about XP, which will appear in the newspaper in Japan!
This week we had our first collection of visitors from all over the country at XP! They learned about how Crew, Expeditions and how we design our curriculum. Our student ambassadors were terrific and the delegates really enjoyed their time in Crew sessions!

Thank you to everyone that’s supported us with our Harvest Festival donations. We really appreciate your support 💕 Mandy, at Oops a Daisy has donated this amazing flower arrangement, it’s absolutely stunning and could be yours! We are raffling this off at £1 per number and it will be drawn at lunchtime tomorrow so it is able to be collected at home time.
We will be at the front of school in the morning for those that have asked to purchase a number. All funds raised will go towards purchasing a banner for a children to celebrate our attendance at extra curricular events such as Young Voices and sporting events. Thank you all for your continued support.
