What a wonderful Wednesday we’ve had in Crew Wilson.
We started off this morning continuing with our discussions around Being Kind, then some volunteers got to meet a special visitor and share what we have been learning – the children could articulate themselves very well, explaining in detail what we have done since we returned to school in September, but also why we were learning it and they have made their teachers very proud!
Highlights of the Day:
Maths: Using the Very Hungry Caterpillar to support 1:1 correspondence. The children couldn’t believe just how much the Caterpillar ate in one day! We are getting secure with representing numbers by objects and have definitely enjoyed exploring it a little more today.
PE: Today we played Cops and Robbers, where the children split into teams and had to strategise how they were going to ‘steal’ the other groups swag and get it back to their base – but there were several rules that made it a harder. It was great to see them working out the best methods, practising and adapting them. The girls communicated fantastically and managed to beat the boys 5 times in a row! Next week we will continue with this game and see if the boys manage to beat the girls, the battle lines have been drawn and it is ON!
Howl Heroes:
Work Hard: This Howl goes to Freddie, for taking part in all of our crew and learning sessions today. Freddie’s attitude to learning has become so positive since returning to school and it is great to see our Crew celebrating his successes and cheering him on – we are all so proud, keep it up Freddie!
Get Smart: This Howl goes to Keira-Leigh for her fantastic people management skills in PE – the girls owe their wins to Keira-Leigh’s quick-thinking and direct instruction, there were no weak links in this group as Keira-Leigh made sure everyone knew what their job was and how to do it. Fantastic work Keira-Leigh!
Be Kind: This Howl goes to Aleks, as he has formed some lovely relationships with his friends and is so considerate of other children’s needs. Aleks always helps others both on the playground and in the classroom, and it’s great to see him developing friendships within our lovely crew, keep it up Aleks 🙂
