Crew Shields – 14/4/21

The children have really enjoyed their Wizard of Oz themed day especially seeing the different costumes of their peers. They found the Wizard of Oz production hilarious and they joined in with the singing and dancing. They even got to experience magic when the Professor jumped into the screen. Crew Shields have really enjoyed their day and voted for the best costume which was won by Reece. His homemade costume was fantastic and we are glad he shared it with us.

To further improve, Crew Shields need to ensure that they are being respectful when moving around the school building.

Daily Blog Crew Godley 13.04.2021

Another busy and happy day in Crew, such a positive start to Summer term. The children have settled quickly back into school life ❤️

We spent most of our day outside today enjoying the fresh air. We used lots of equipment and our imaginations to build dens! It was so much fun and we found lots of things to do in them like using pots and pans to make music!

We made loud sounds to keep the Wicked Witch if the West at bay 🧙‍♀️ and quiet sounds so we didn’t scare Toto 🐶

HoWL hero: Today’s HoWL hero was Reggie for working hard. Reggie worked hard to show green standard today. I’m so proud of him ❤️

Daily Blog Crew Godley 12.04.2021

It was so lovely to have our crew back together today!

Highlight of the day: We started off our new term with crew building in PE. We worked as a great team to ensure we put all of the fruit into our yummy fruit salad. We helped each other to complete the tasks and cheered each other on to show their support!

HoWL Hero: Today’s HoWL hero was Shelby for being kind. Shelby showed real maturity outside when sharing resources and worked together with her peers.

Today’s HOWL hero was Lucas! He has been such a good example of getting smart today by using amazing listening skills showing green standard during group sessions.

Crew Longley – 13.04.2021

Another busy day in Crew Longley. We started by thinking about kindness and how we can pay compliments to people and share positivity. Then we started thinking about fractions and halving, writing character descriptions and reviewing our slightly disgusting egg experiment.

Our Howl Average today was 3.1

Our Weekly Howl Target is 3.0

We need 8 more ‘3’s’ to earn our Nelli day! 🐶🐶

Today’s Howl hero was Kayden. He has worked hard to complete his work and shown kindness, even when he was feeling a little frustrated. Kayden also kindly shared the 5 Red Ninja trick to help breathe and self-regulate. Something we have tried to do today.

Crew Shields – 13/4/21

Crew Shields have blown me away today with some of their writing based around the Tinman from the Wizard of Oz. When I think back to their writing in September, I can’t believe how much they have come on. Children were using inverted commas independently today and this shows they are retaining their previous learning. This makes me and Mrs Lowe very happy. They should be very proud of themselves! Well done Crew Shields!

Crew Shields Average : 3.0

Targets for this week : 3.2

How can we improve?

To further improve, Crew Shields need to ensure that they always demonstrating active listening so they know what they need to do.

Crew Shields Get Smart Howl Hero – Chloe
Chloe showed some fantastic understanding in Maths and Writing today. She uses some fantastic vocabulary and her writing is a pleasure to read.

Crew Shields Get Smart Howl Hero – RiRi
RiRi has been working really hard in her writing since September through proofreading and ensuring she uses accurate vocabulary. It has been a real pleasure reading her writing the last few months and I’m very excited for the rest of the writing she produces in Year 3!

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 13.04.21

Today has been another great day in Crew Elmer!

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today’s ‘star moment’ has to be our ‘Write Stuff’ lesson. I was blown away with the character descriptions that children had written about Dorothy in connection with our short unit on ‘The Wizard of Oz’. The children were able to use a range of expanded noun phrases, similes and WOW adjectives! Great work Crew Elmer! Well done! 👏📝✏

Todays HoWL average is: 2.8

Another good HoWL score but a slight dip from yesterday due to 2 crew members being absent today. Hopefully we can continue to work super hard tomorrow and get this HoWL score up to at least at 3.0! 🤞

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

We need to make sure that all crew members are at school tomorrow and that we remember to try our best at working hard, getting smart and being kind.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Esme! Esme was praised by several of her crew members as well as Miss Hart and I for her exceptional hard work in all lessons today especially ‘The Write Stuff’. Esme was also praised for being kind and helpful at crew break times. An amazing day Esme! Well done! 🙌🤩👏👍

Following our critiques yesterday, we have made great strides in redesigning and remaking our castle, and we are very nearly ready to join it together and start painting! We had some fantastic collaboration and some brilliant demonstration of our DT skills that we learned before half term, great work Crew Wilson!
