Today Crew Gray took part in the Hula Hoop Pass Challenge today. The goal was to pass the hoop all the way around without anyone letting go, which led to plenty of twisting, ducking, and creative moves. The crew laughed their way through the challenge and encouraged each other the whole time. By the end, Crew Gray had not only completed the task but strengthened their teamwork in the process.
Protocol’s are embedded in our everyday standards at Carcroft. Think pair share is a learning strategy that first involves the children thinking about a question individually, then discussing their ideas with their partner, and lastly sharing their ideas with the whole class. For nursery we signal with our hands to que the children to “talk to their partner” to build this protocol in crew Frost. We can’t wait to try our pop corn protocol next! Well Done Crew Frost.
Crew Ramsay have been working in groups with our new student teacher, Miss Bagworth to create poppy art for Remembrance Day. We had 2 minutes of silence to honour the fallen and we celebrated by making paper tissue poppies. Here we are getting crafty and talking about our ‘Be Kind’ HOWL for this significant event.
Crew Ramsay headed down to crew Barber to narrate our very own character-driven narratives to a real audience! We took so much pride in our work and loved performing as storytellers. Here we are in action…
Crew Robson have blown me away with their HoWLs during writing this week. They have been so focussed and determined to show off the amazing writing skills.
In Year 4 this week, pupils have began to explore area. We used post it notes to understand that area is the amount of space inside a 2 dimensional shape. Well done Year 4 for your hard work. You are flying in maths this week!
In Crew Haddock today the children made flapjack. They were so kind in taking turns and then they shared it with staff around school. This is their favourite thing to do.
This week Crew frost have been focusing on Remembrance day on our expedition. The children learnt what a solider is, what their job is, and we were Poppy’s to remember them by. The children loved learning about Miss Frost’s parent who were in the army and looking at all my old photos They couldn’t wait to show their respect by making a poppy and putting their fine motor and creative skills to the test, Well done Crew Frost we are so proud of the respect you showed.
