Today in scotties, the children had to lead each other through the maze while they are blindfolded . Then the played a game of how many cones they could pick up whiles blindfolded.

XP Outdoors – raft making
In our crew session this morning we made a raft out of twigs and pipe cleaners and put a sail in them, ready to see if they float.
Litter picking
On Thursday afternoon, we had some time after lunch doing some litter picking. Even better that we got some additional time in the sunshine. Crew Shields did a great job picking up rubbish as we know it’s everyone’s responsibility to keep our environment clean, tidy and safe.
Caring for our sunflowers!
This morning in XP Outdoors, we planted our sunflowers outside in bigger pots to that they could grow big and strong in the bright sunshine! We carefully took our plants out of their small plant pots, made a small hole in the compost and patted our sunflowers firmly into their new pot. After that, we watered them to make sure they had had a good drink, and now we will keep our fingers crossed that they carry on growing!
Earth Day – Seed Bombs
To celebrate Earth Day, we spent time in our XP Outdoors crew session making seed bombs!
We used flour, wildflower seeds, compost and water and mixed them altogether to create a mixture. We then took this mixture and rolled it into golf-sized balls and put them aside to dry. Once they are dry we will take some home but also plant some in our outdoor area at school. Seed bombs simply need to be dropped into soil and nature will do the rest. Over time they will turn into beautiful wildflowers!

In our Scottys session this week, we put all of our skills into practice. We had to work as part of a mini crew to complete a number of exercises and reach the other side. We had lots of fun and Mick definitely put our strength and endurance to the test!

What a fantastic Scotties session we had on Wednesday! We had to work as a team to take down the opponents base. We had to use our listening skills to wait for the different commands that Charlie gave. 👂🏻👭👬

XP Outdoors
Crew Godley had a little bit of a different challenge today, we ventured out into the forest to see if we could find some dancing stickmen! We had some great ideas and it was lovely to see the children recreating stories with their dancing sticks 💃 🕺
