CREW FOX BLOG 02.10.20

Happy Friday!

It’s been a great day here in Crew Fox, we’ve learnt all about the digestive system in science and dodged a few balls in P.E. This afternoon Crew Fox made Mrs Rhodes and Mr McCusker “Happy” with their angelic voices in Music.

Our HOWLs today are…

Shay for WORK HARD

Jess for GET SMART

Sarah for BE KIND

Well done Crew Fox,enjoy your weekend!

Our Handwriting Stars 🌟

I’ve just had the pleasure of looking at the books of these wonderful children and also Alex in Year 1. Her work is the work at the top. ☺️

They have been selected for cake and shake this week because they have made progress with their handwriting.

I have selected a couple of pieces that I would like all of our Year 3-6 pupils to aspire to over the next few weeks. I selected the work of Lily-Beth in Year 4 and Chloe in Year 6.

However, I loved seeing all of the beautiful work. The children are working so hard.

It was also lovely to be able to circle up and share some facts about ourself whilst enjoying our cakes. 🧁 A great start to my weekend. 🙌

Crew Marsh: 1/10/20

Hi all,

Star moment of the day:

I have thoroughly enjoyed party day today with the crew, it has been so lovely spending quality time with them, that our normal busy school day doesn’t always lend itself too.

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.5

Weekly HoWl target: 3.0

How can we improve this tomorrow?

By making sure as a crew we are working hard and listening to instructions.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

This week we are concentrating on being kind.

Our being kind hero today is: Millie

Millie is a real credit to have in Crew Marsh, she is always kind to everyone and always wants to help.

Well done Millie!

Crew Mcloughlin Blog 01/10/20

Good evening!

We have had an amazing day enjoying no pen day and giving our hands a rest. I am certain we will be even more ready to write some beautiful work tomorrow.

Anyone could have won the HoWL heroes today, but the lucky three that stood out to Mrs Bidmead are…

Get smart: Lacey 🦸‍♀️

Being Kind: Harry 🦸‍♂️

We are super happy that our HOWL average today is 3.1! We’ve really focused on what each HoWL means and implemented this throughout the day. Well done Crew Mcloughlin you are superstars!🤩

Today was party day to celebrate the children returning to school 🥳 We celebrated with a party lunch of pizza or hot dogs which went down a treat 😋 One child was lucky enough to win a free month of Kixx Academy! ⚽️

We practised using our listening ears and went out on a listening walk to see what sounds we could hear in the environment. This is an important beginning stage of phonics so we really need to be super listeners! 👂🏼 The children identified sounds such as birds, cars, the wind, an aeroplane and a siren.

In Maths we have looked at colours and pattern using compare bears. The children did fantastic at identifying colours and matching them to the pattern. Some children then created their own patterns with the bears!

HOWL Hero

We have continued working hard on our listening and being kind to each other and I am really proud that this is being embedded within our crew. We are reflecting about if we need reminders to listen and how we can improve.

Being Kind – Bella

Bella is always so kind to her friends and she loves to help tidy up! Bella uses lovely manners and sets a great example to our crew. 🌟

Crew Boswell – 01.10.20

Good evening,

Our star moment today was during our Cojo challenge and the great teamwork and support that was on display.  It was also great to see the whole crew celebrating with Tyler when he found a golden ticket at lunch!

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.2

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.0

I wonder if…

I wonder if we can push on tomorrow to ensure we all beat our weekly average.  Science and maths could be good lessons to show that we can Get Smart.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Our Be Kind hero today is Heidi!

Heidi has been fantastic today. She has made sure that others are included and have their voices heard throughout the day.  As her t-shirt said, keep calm and let Heidi handle it.

Crew Thiede

Afternoon everyone!

We have had a lovely celebration day in Crew Thiede.

Highlight of the day

What an amazing day we have had! Not only have we had lots of fun but we have behaved excellently too (we were even praised by other adults in school)!

We started the day making pizzas that were zone of regulation themed. Even though we didn’t like all of the vegetables everyone tried them. Great job Crew Thiede!

We then did lots of exciting cojo challenges with Miss Welburn!

At lunchtime Harry got a golden ticket and won a star prize! This made him really happy and it was lovely to see his crew mates being happy for him too!

We finished the day with Miss Wroe and Mr Wilson! We did helicopter stories and did drama too!

Our Crew enjoyed completing 3 different activities throughout out the day. We created our own autumn picture with tissue paper followed by making our own yummy pizzas. This afternoon, Crew Flaherty, everyone enjoyed a Cojo session in the sunshine.

Crew Elmer Daily Blog 01.10.20

Yay! 😃 It’s October! 🎃

What an interesting day it has been! 🎈

Star moment of the day: ⭐

Today I praise how well Crew Elmer worked in ‘mini crews’ to complete the party scavenger hunt this morning! The children were great at taking it in turns to open and read the clues, find the clues hidden around the classroom and scramble the letters to reveal the different feelings words linked to the film, ‘Inside Out’. Well done Crew! 👏

Other exciting news 🤩 is that Lily-Beth won one of the ‘Golden Tickets’ ⭐ at lunch time! 🤩 She and the rest of our crew were super excited! 😁 It was absolutely lovely ❤ to see the rest of the crew cheering and clapping in celebration! 👏

Today’s HoWL average is: 3.0

Well done Crew Elmer! 👍 This is a great HoWL average score and means that we are on track to beating our HoWL weekly target last week, which means a possible spin on the wheel! 🤞

This week’s HoWL target is: 2.9

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Tomorrow Crew Elmer need to make sure that we are continuing to ‘be kind’ at all times. This includes being kind with our shoulder partners, table buddies and mini crews.

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Crew Elmer nominated Sienna for our ‘get smart’ HoWL Hero today! 👏 Sienna worked so hard in computing this afternoon. From knowing very little on coding and how to create and move sprites Sienna made excellent progress in today’s lesson and by the end of the session had a big beaming smile on her face showing how proud she was of her achievements. Excellent computing skills Sienna! Well done!
