Conductors and Insulators

We thoroughly enjoyed learning about and investigating conductors and insulators. Before conducting our experiment, we made predictions about which materials would be conductors (allowing electricity to pass through) and which would be insulators (blocking the flow of electricity). As a crew, we discussed how to ensure a fair test by identifying the variables – keeping the circuit the same while changing only the materials. We then carried out our investigation, recorded our findings in a results table, concluding our results.

Maths in MI

Magic maths allowed us to consolidate our learning on measure where we converted between units before ordering from shortest to longest. The main part of our maths lesson looked at using bar models to find equivalent fractions. We all then moved onto some reasoning and problem solving questions. The problems today proved to be really challenging however children showed great resilience, supporting each other to talk through the problems and showing their working out with a bar model. Great collaborative working MI 🙂

Basketball in MI

Our PE lesson today kickstarted our basketball unit. We looked at the techniques needed when dribbling and we also thought about space awareness. A great lesson MI 🙂

Practicing speaking on the spot!

Today, we had just two minutes to rehearse a line from our speeches before delivering them to the class! It was a fun and exciting challenge, pushing us to think quickly and speak confidently. Even with little time to prepare, everyone did an amazing job sharing our ideas. It was a great way to practice speaking on the spot!
