This week, we are hooking in to our new expedition – Would you travel by wheels, wings or other things? We’ve started our expedition by looking at vehicles within our local area that passed our school and thought about where they might be travelling to. We decided that the cars could be doing short journeys, like to the shops or to work, or they could be going further away to the sea side! We thought that the bicycle we saw was going to work or going home, because it would hurt your legs to cycle all the way to the sea side from Carcroft! When we looked up in the sky, we saw an aeroplane and we decided that this was taking people on holiday to a different country!
Today in xp outdoors the children really enjoyed showing use their fine motor skills sat on the field in the lovely warm weather we have had today making cardboard flower pots.
In xp outdoors today Crew Godley did cardboard flower pots. This helped the children with their fine motor skills.
We have welcomed Spring by creating playdough creatures to add to our whole school display in our Forest School.
To begin, we use our rolling skills to create the bodies of our creatures before then pushing and pressing extra details to finalise our creatures. We are so pleased with how they turned out!
Later in the week we got the opportunity to go and see our creations on display in the forest. We really enjoyed seeing our insects as part of the display and we liked looking at what the rest of school had contributed too.
The children have loved been outside this week and have shown how brave they all are when creating new games. The children have spent time exploring forces and have particularly enjoyed making rollercoasters and seeing how fast they can go! Using crates, ropes, bikes and they muscles to push and pull, they explored how to make super speedy rides 🎢
This week in xp outdoors we have been weaving paper . The children really enjoyed this.
We have loved going to see our forest area today to welcome spring! Look at how Carcroft crews have worked together to create a beautiful spring display.
