Today we were visited by Nicola and Natalie from Ladies in Pigs who taught us all about where our food comes from and even cooked some tasty frying pan pizzas. The children even helped. What a great hook into our DT cade study!
In our crews, we voted that bedtime stories make us feel all warm and cosy inside! We love to read stories and so many of our children are so eager to share the stories we read in school with their grown ups and siblings at home.
We would like to invite children to select a book on a Friday to take home for the week to share at bedtime with the families. We have so many to choose from and the children are excited to do so!
You can help us by:
What happens if I forget to bring my book on a Friday?
On Tuesday 7th February we celebrated Safer Internet Day 2023, attached are the slides we created to showcase our thoughts and ideas.
Internet Safety or E-Safety is an integral part of children’s education in today’s digital world and is embedded in their learning at school. At Carcroft School we want to help our parents and children improve their own understanding of e-safety issues so they can learn to use the internet and all digital media in a safe and secure way.
As a parent/carer you’ll know how important the internet is to children – they use it to learn, play, socialise and express themselves. But the technology children use every day can seem a bit daunting and you might worry about the risks your child can face online – such as bullying, contact from strangers or the possibility of them seeing illegal or inappropriate content.
To try and help parents/carers with the fast moving and changing world of internet and social media we’ve suggested a few internet sites. You can also read/download the documents for further information and advice.
We’ve had great fun sculpting and modelling clay to create natural art faces in our forest today 🌳
I have been working with four wonderful Year 2’s who are working extremely hard on their speedy reading and reading for meaning. They blow me away with their enthusiasm and love of reading every time we do it!
Crew Godley had a lovely day in the forest painting leaves , printing them on paper then throwing them in the air, what a lovely sunny day for it.
Crew Robson and Crew Welburn ended National Story Telling Week by sharing stories together in Crew Welburn this morning. The Year 2 children came down to Crew Welburn with some of their favourite stories to share and read them to our foundation children. Thank you for coming Crew Robson, we really enjoyed having you!
This week in maths we have been learning about money and the value of different coins. Today we worked in pairs to work out how much money was in different jars pinned around the room. I was very impressed with their knowledge and addition skills. I wonder if you could practice making different amounts of money at home?
