Week 2 in Crew Welburn

We had lots of fun in Crew Welburn last week. We explored our provision areas, began working on our final product plant pots so that the base coats were dry, and began looking at how the numbers 4 and 5 are made within our maths lessons. We also had a go at challenging ourselves to independently make and write words using our phonics sounds! Miss Welburn was very impressed with our Fred talk and blending.

Favourite Dinner Day

Next Thursday 19th January is the Spring School Census Day. The money the school receive from the government to pay for the schools meals is based on an average of the number of meals taken on the census days in October and January. It would really help us if your child was to have a school meal on this day.  To encourage children to join us for school lunch, the cook is offering a special menu with Carcroft’s favourite dinner.

Pizza with chips & beans

Veggie nuggets with chips & beans

Jacket Potato with cheese & beans

Cheese sandwich

If your child usually has a packed lunch and would like to have a dinner on this day please pay on ParentPay.

Thank you.

Taekwondo in Crew Marsh

We have loved our first taekwondo lesson today. We learnt how to count in Korean (to number 5), our stance and a push kick.

XP outdoors!

This week in crew, Miss Welburn set us a challenge to see if we could make our outdoor area a little bit tidier and safer by sweeping up the leaves and using the litter pickers to put any rubbish in the bin. We did a fantastic job, working together as a crew, and our outdoor area looks much better now 😁

History of Cameras

Today, we have explored how we know about events from the past where the children spoke about diaries, photos and newspapers as sources of evidence.

We then completed a gallery walk where children had to look at cameras, discuss the design and put them in chronological order.

I was impressed how the children could confidently decide whether a camera had been invented before or after the previous one we discussed.
