Year 3/4 football tournament

Today 5 pupils from both year 3 and year 4 headed out for the afternoon to compete in a football tournament. They were one of 10 teams, unfortunately we didn’t place in the top 3 but I was so impressed with the children’s efforts, resilience and sportsmanship. Out of the 10 teams, which was over 100 children in total, one of our year 4 pupils was given a medal for his stand out sportsmanship. We were all so proud of him, what a great achievement! Here’s a few photos to showcase our fantastic afternoon!

Rounders Champions!!

Today I couldn’t have been prouder of our KS1 children. Rounders isn’t a sport we usually play, so a quick turn around of learning the basics, Miss Holdsworth shadowing 2nd base with her life and most importantly working as a crew… we did it! Something we have never done before, we came first place in the Rounders tournament. We won every game, got noticed for our hard work, resilience and sportsmanship. Holding up the trophy even made one child say “This is the best day of my life” what an absolute honour it has been to attend todays competition!

KS2 Girls Football Tournament

A fabulous afternoon for our KS2 Girls football team playing in the sunshine.

Congratulations on coming 3rd in the tournament. Their brilliant teamwork, determination and great sportsmanship made us all proud.

Basketball club with Eagle Hoops

I have been blown away at the progression with their skills and also sportsmanship within their basketball club. The children attend every Friday lunch time and I thoroughly enjoy watching them grow as individuals but also as small teams! Some great skills developing but the encouragement they give each other is such a great personality trait to have! The language they’re using is also impressive, as they know when it’s the other teams throw-in, foul due to ill play and knowledge around dribbling and passing correctly. Super impressive KS1
