Crew Gerrard (18/01/21)

Hi everyone,

It has been a really busy day in Crew Gerrard. We have made a good start on our healthy eating writing and we are starting to get to grips with our maths. Keep going guys, we’re almost there. My wonder for tomorrow would be if we can keep focusing really well, so that we can all work really hard. It’s been tricky to choose our HoWL heroes:

Work Hard: Kian for working really hard on his handwriting.

Get Smart: Lucas for producing a fantastic to introduction in his persuasive writing.

Be Kind: Riley, who is always polite and eager to learn.

Our HoWL average for today was 2.9!

It was so good to see you all guys, let’s have more tomorrow! 😀

Crew Kent Blog – 18.1.21

Today, we could’ve given anyone HOWL hero… but the lucky 3 were:

Work hard: Crystal

Get smart: Chloe

Be kind: Mckenzie

🤩 We are super proud to say that our HOWL average today is 3.2! We’ve worked super hard to achieve this and we’re really now thinking about what each HOWL really means.

Happy Monday! 😁

Welcome back after the weekend! I hope that you have all managed to find some time to relax 🤗 and are ready for the first 5 day week ahead this half term!

Star moment of the day:

This has got to be our Expedition lesson this afternoon. The children have been learning about Roman roads, including how they were straight, how they covered lots of Britain and how they were built. The children then spend some time outside on the playground drawing their own Roman roads ensuring that they were straight and that children calculated their total distance. The longest road was 153m long! WOW! Great work Crew!

Todays HoWL average is: 3.0

A great start to the week! Lots of crew members achieved ‘Green Standard’ in lessons today so this really helped to boost our HoWL scores! Well done Crew! 🙌🤩⭐👍👏 Lets see if we can keep this up all week!

This week’s HoWL target is: 3.0

How can we develop this tomorrow?

All crew members need to remember to follow their HoWLs at all times, especially at break time!

Today’s HoWL Hero:

Today’s HoWL Hero was Hannah-May! Hannah-May was nominated by the majority of the in-class and on-line classes for working hard, contributing lots of ideas during ‘The Write Stuff’ and being kind to her crew members at break and lunch time. Excellent effort Hannah-May! Well done! 👍👏⭐🤩🙌😁

Crew Wilson Daily Blog: 18/1/2021

We have had a good start to our week in Crew Wilson!

Highlight of the Day:

I have loved watching the children working hard in their PE session today. We had a range of activities to take part in on the playground and the Crew worked so well in small groups, listening to instructions, cheering each other on and challenging themselves. We have also welcomed a new child into our Crew today and I have been blown away at how kind and welcoming everyone has been, well done Crew Wilson!

Howl Heroes:

Work Hard: Dalton for his brilliant reasoning answers in maths!

Get Smart: Jake for his wonderful writing in morning task!

Be Kind: Finlay for his kindness towards our new crew member!

Howl Average:

3.4 – A positive start to the week!

Crew Marsh: 18/01/21

My star moment today was seeing the children create their roman roads outside on the playground, the children did amazingly at putting a marker at every meter and then connecting the lines between to make a straight road. 🙌👌📏

Average is: 3.2!👌

Our Weekly HoWL target is: 3.1

How can we develop this tomorrow?

Crew Marsh need to continue to be more mindful of putting their hand up rather than getting out of their seat, and making sure that we are listening and following instructions the first time.

Today’s howl hero is:

Get Smart hero today is Preston! 🙌😁😁😁

Preston has been a superstar today! He has made sure he is working extra hard in all of his subjects and is always listening! Preston you have really put a smile on my face with how hard you have tried! Well done this is thoroughly deserved!!✨✔😎

Monday✅

Today, we have had lots of fun in our provision areas! Mrs Thorpe had a few children in particular who she was proud of – Nathan, Charlie, Lylah and Bronwyn. These children really blew her away with their independent sentence writing!
Our classroom has been filled with praises as well this afternoon. The children absolutely love looking for people to praise throughout the day and it is really nice to hear them boost each other’s confidence 🥰

HOWL Heroes:

Work hard: Lylah

Get smart: Scarlett

Be kind: Bronwyn

HOWL Score: 3. I’m really proud of how hard you have worked today Crew Welburn!

Year 1: Better late than never…❄🎅🏻

No need to adjust your calendars, we haven’t time warped back to December, but I have just found our Year 1 Christmas Story night video🤦🏻‍♂️

If you’re feeling the January blues watch this clip and go back to a simpler time before lockdown 3.0! We had such a great evening with stories, snacks, songs and dancing and cannot wait to have everyone back in the classroom together again 🤞🏻
