Today we created our own baskets to take to Grandma some treats 🍰🧁 We loved making our baskets and discussing the traditional tale – Little Red Riding Hood. We kept our eyes out for the mischievous wolf 🐺 We thought about how Little Red Riding Hood moved through the forest and how her facial expressions changed when she spotted the wolf 🐺 We all looked after our buns and didn’t eat them until the end!

Little Red Riding Hood Experience Lesson
Today we started looking at our new English text, Little Red Riding Hood. We talked about the book and I was impressed by how many children could recall the story. After we read our book we made baskets and skipped around school just like Little Red Riding Hood skipped through the forest. All the treats made it safely back to class and thankfully we didn’t meet a wolf (this time!).

Delivering a bun to Grandma 🧁💕
Today we created our own baskets to take to Grandma who was feeling poorly at the other side of the woods. We loved making our baskets and discussing the traditional tale – Little Red Riding Hood. We all looked after our buns and didn’t eat them until the end!

Year 2 build a shelter ⛺️

For our experience lesson today we ventured into the woods. Just like Vlad and Boxton, we escaped the fire and found shelter. We talked about where was the best place to make a shelter and how the people running away from the fire would have been feeling.
Building shelters ⛺️
Today we built shelters after running from the fire in London.

What was it like during The Great Fire of London? 🔥

Today in our experience lesson we thought about chaotic the streets would have been during The Great Fire of London. We had to dodge the horses and carts and even jump over the poo 💩

We then had a go at up-levelling some basic sentences to include some year 2 features. I can’t wait to see your writing tomorrow Crew Robson 🥰
Experiencing running through fire 🔥
In our experience lesson this morning we experienced how Vlad felt running through fire. We came up with some amazing sentence.

The Great Fire of London 🔥🏠
After building our houses yesterday, today we recreated the Great Fire of London. We all sat and watched how quickly the fire moved from one house to the next so quickly – it only took 30 minutes to burn down all of the buildings, like the 3 days it took for the Great Fire of London. We spoke about what language we could use in our writing such as fire, smoke, spreading, roaring, burning.

Making bread in our bakery 🧑🏼🍳🍞
Today in our experience lesson we made bread in the bakery, the first stop of the Great fire of London.

Day 2- Crew Marsh working hard to get smart in English
Today I had the pleasure of spending an hour with Crew Marsh during their first English lesson. They listened again to the Rainbow Fish story and talked about how this linked to our ‘be kind’ HoWLs. Then they completed some activities linked to their ‘be kind’ story to help them to really understand the importance of being kind in Crew Marsh and how being unkind can make people feel.
I was blown away by the way they all concentrated throughout the lesson. They carefully watched Miss Marsh model sentence writing and then had a go. I cannot believe how amazing they did. I also loved seeing the children work independently in their labs creating their fish.
