Crew Hamill have been set a brand new reading challenge!! Each member of our crew has their own polar bear that they need to try and save from sinking on the disappearing iceberg 🧊 Every time they read at home, their polar bear takes one footstep closer to the safety of shore! The first person to the safe iceberg wins a prize! And every polar bear that doesn’t suffer the dreadful fate of many polar bears by making it onto a paw print will also be rewarded! 🐻❄️🧊🎁 Who will be first to the top?! 👀

The jollypostman posting to baby bear
Today in Y1 we started our christmas writing by reading the christmas jollypostman. He firstly delivered a christmas card to baby bear at the three bears house, we therefore decorated our own card for baby bear and then delivered it to their house. We noticed Mummy bear decorating a christmas tree and enjoyed some warm, delicious porridge.
A white mouse with a house..
In our experience lesson we each made a mouse so we could put it in our shoe for their new house just like in the story The Smartest Giant in town. We loved reading this book again and found it funny that George the giant had to hop away because he has given one of his shoes.
Star of the day
Leon has wow us today in Crew Haddock with his learning
My shirt’s on a boat for a sail for a goat..
In today’s experience lesson we each made our own tin foil boat to see if it floated on water. We balanced coins in the boat to make it even harder. After that, we chotted all of our ideas to think about what actions George did, what he could see and then how he might of felt after giving his shirt to the goat to use as a sail on his boat.
We love singing the song for each plot point.
My tie is a scarf for a cold giraffe..
Today we started our new story The Smartest Giant in Town. We read the first section where the giant walks through the local town and bumps into a giraffe. The giraffe moaned that he was cold and needed to warm up, therefore we all needed to make a tie for the giraffe to warm up his long neck!
Look at the designs we created on our ties! 👔
