After already doing 3 drafts of our Dennis Creffield drawing of our school, today we did our 4th practice to improve on our artwork. We did this by reflecting and critiquing our previous artwork and how we could improve it.

This week it was lovely to lead KS1s Community Meeting and be a part of all of the celebrations! From Star Readers 📚📖 to Learning Legends 🌟🏆! It was also lovely to hear what each Crew had been up last week and who the superstars were for reading, writing, maths and PE! Well done to you all! 👏
This week it was the children’s time to read to parents…
We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped and supported KS1’s bake sale, we managed to raise £109 for Doncaster Changing Lives. This is just the start of KS1 being heroes in the Carcroft community, look out for what we do next!
This morning we started writing plot point 3. First, we discussed what we was going to be writing about and picked out the important information from our text. We then chotted our ideas about the strict Roman disciplines and wrote a shared write together. We focussed on including fronted adverbials and coordinating conjunctions and came up with some fantastic examples of these. The writing Crew Thompson produced today was fantastic!
Thursday 7th September FS1 Stay and engage
We all had a wonderful day introducing our parents to all the different activities available at our nursery! We had the chance to make bird feeders, explore the wood and take part in a nature treasure hunt! Well done FS1!
Hello Everyone!
We are yet again looking for some volunteers (across all crews) to come into school and listen to some children read on a 1:1 basis.
Scarily, 1 in 4 children leave primary school unable to read well, resulting in life long consequences. It is our mission at Carcroft to ensure that all of our children leave our school able to read well.
If you have some time to spare, a day, a few hours or even an hour, and enjoy spending time with children then we would love it if you could come and help us to support our children with reading.
We hope that from this experience our children will become better readers and develop a stronger love for reading and for you to gain an enormous amount of pleasure from seeing the difference that a few hours can make to a child’s reading ability, confidence and enjoyment.
Ideally we would appreciate volunteers giving us their time for as long as possible, however if you are only able to commit to a few weeks or months then please do not hesitate to enquire.
If you feel like this is something that you can offer then please pop into the school office who will be able to provide you with more details.
We look forward to hearing from you.

As part of hook week, this afternoon we made some knucklebones. We moulded clay into small pieces and shaped them to resemble knucklebones. Then, we came up with some rules on how to play knucklebones. We are super excited to play the knucklebone game tomorrow!
Today in our experience lesson we made bread in the bakery, the first stop of the Great fire of London.
We have loved our first football club today, thanks coach 🥰
